Thats 100% FREAKIN TRUE! There's FRESHMEN in my school on the baseball team getting their hands on chew and roids, you should see these guys beat up someone it looks like they were in a frikkin trainwreck. And then the kids doin roids and chew get cought and end up in MY p.e class! Then I get womped on! STOP THE MADNESS!Wino you know wrote:These are A-Rod's statistics for 2003:
181 hits,
47 homers,
118 R.B.I.,
124 runs scored,
30 doubles,
17 stolen bases,
.298 B.A.
I'm sorry, I KNOW he's a pretty good player, but these days no matter WHO puts up numbers like that needs to be investigated for the use of ANYTHING illegal.
If he's found to be clean, the God bless him.
If he's found to be otherwise, KICK HIS FRIGGIN' A$$ OUT OF THE GAME!!!
Whether these baffoons know it or not, they ARE setting an example to young kids, and, no matter HOW many years ago this happened, it needs to be dealt with.

Yep. Rodriguez (and everyone else who takes steroids) need to be banned from the game NOW and FOREVER.
(Or Pete Rose needs to be re-instated).
Oh, to have a commissioner like Kennesaw Mountain Landis again.

BTW I think we should enshrine Pete Rose, what he did didn't do HALF the damage to the integrity of this game as some of these roiders are now doing

Meanwhile, guys like Shoeless Joe Jackson, WHO WAS AQUITTED, along with most of his other team mates, remains ineligible for Hall of Fame induction due to some trumped up charge.

The effect of the possible "throwing" of a game for the purpose of his own (or even scarier, others') financial gain
goes to the very heart of the game's integrity. Same for all other sports, you have to believe the game is being contested honestly.
It turns a true competition into a mere exhibition. The difference is very important.
Pete Rose should not see the HOF. It has to be a lesson for the generations.
Where steroids are involved in team sports, there is no guarantee of victory, only the hopeful promise of improved performance.
...and everyone is trying to achieve that...always... whether through advanced supplements or training.
Ask Pete Incaviglia or Rob Deer... juicers who could sometimes connect.
Since steroids were not illegal, how can you retroactively punish the offenders?
By wiping any records from the books, and let public opinion handle the possibilities for HOF induction.
So far, it has worked pretty much as predicted...

Take a pill, Gary. Nobody from that era has been penalized, and until you can prove he did it under the new rules the public backlash will have to suffice. A-ROID faces a very long year.Wino you know wrote:Rodriguez (and everyone else who takes steroids) need to be banned from the game NOW and FOREVER.

As far as your last statement, Landis was a horrendous bigot who was the single reason why blacks were kept out of baseball for so long. The only good thing you can say about him is he did all he could to keep gambling and related corruption out of baseball. I bet you didn't know that the MVP award in each league is actually named for him.

I don't know if it was ever proved he'd "throw" a game... I could see him betting on his own team "to win" however.Lightning Bolt wrote:Can't agree with you at all there, GlorGlorfindel7 wrote:I agree, he didn't let the law get in his way....Wino you know wrote:Rodriguez (and everyone else who takes steroids) need to be banned from the game NOW and FOREVER.
