One of my very close friends also supports Obama. Should I dismiss almost 20 years of friendship because our political views differ?
Jimmy's songs will not ever sound the same to you?
Come on!!!! Please now!!!!
Vote your choice but please think before you post.
This is the most confrontation you'll get from me. Au revoir.

My best friend, Lynette, and I are on opposite sides politically. But she is still Aunt Lynette to my kids and I continue to cherish our friendship.
And my entertainment choices will continue to be based on just that...entertainment.
Eh...what am I saying? Go ahead and desert Jimmy for having an opinion. After all, as Larry says, it just means more tickets for me!
With a little love and luck, we'll take the sky!

Body: What's up everyone?! Hope everyone is enjoying Halloween with their family and friends. Just wanted to send out a quick note about the comments recently on the page. I understand many people are very passionate about their political views. The only thing I ask is that you please keep your comments rated G in respect for the other members and children who often visit this page. This page is a medium for all Parrotheads to come together and share stories, pics, listen to music and reconnect with fellow Parrotheads everywhere. Please keep foul language and harsh comments off the page. Politics and religion are two things that always manage to bring the very best and worst out of people. I ask all of you to please be thoughtful of others and keep this page clean and free of negative and hate filled words/thoughts. Again, this MySpace page is supposed to cultivate happy and positive feeling for everyone. I respect everyone and their political beliefs and encourage you to vote and voice your opinion.
Remember it takes more muscles to frown than smile so turn that frown upside down.

Fins up everyone and have a great Halloween!

In 2000, I was in the six figure income bracket. Now, i'm not even close. I am a Democrat, I voted 1 time for Reagan. The 1st time. I made great $$$ then. I paid alot for taxes, but, I also kept alot. When I was making great $$ I still was a Democrat. What made me mad was the "Contract with America" What a bunch of c..p!

Remember, Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill, though they could hardly have been further apart politically, were pals in the 80s when Reagan was President and O'Neill was Speaker of the House.
On the artistic side, Waylon was a conservative and Willie a liberal, but they still made great music together.
Don't let politics damage your personal or artistic relationships.

ALL are welcome on BN.
Our main focus here is the music, NOT politics.

Re: No longer a fan...
Actually... I hope the door hit him REALLY hard on the way out. What a tool..... Jimmy doesn't need fans like that. Get over his opinion. WTF with all these people getting p***. It's only the people that aren't supporting Barack. You can't have it both ways. He would be quite happy and wouldhave never posted if Jimmy would have endorsed McCain. I would have been surprised - but I would NEVER say I was no longer a fan..... I would just have to accept it and go "oh well"....green1 wrote:Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.freerider45 wrote:No longer a fan...Vote for whoever you like, but when you came out publicly for O'bama, you lost these fans. the songs will never sound the same. Margaritaville is now Kool Adeville. Not thatit would matter any longer to the fat cat mogul you've become. So long Jim.
you were not a fan to begin with if that is how quick you can turn IMHO!!!
If you are going to rag on Buffett -then you will have to stop seeing the movies and stop watching the tv shows and listening to other music of ALL THE OTHER CELEBRITIES endorsing Obama. While were at it - stop listening to Hank Williams Jr - who is at every Palin rally. Big and Rich... Don't be selective now..... what a hypocrit. yeah - I hope that door left a huge welt on your a uh... butt on the way out

I am done to.. as well as my sister, brother in law, father in law, etc. We are a family of right minded individuals who have loved listening to and seeing Buffett and while I believe everyone has a right to their opinion, celebrities publicly supporting candidates is very offensive to me, like their opinion means more than a normal person. Hearing what people had to go thru to get tickets makes it worse. I have always known Jimmy was a democrat. I have known about him playing for Pelosi and Clinton but he did not try to sway voters before the election until now. I have been to more than 20 shows over the past 15 years. I will probably not be seeing another. This upsets my liberal wife who I converted into a parrot head.
I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone suppports this morally corrupt socialist Obama. Considering Jimmy's huge business you would think he would have rethought his economic philosophies at least.
Farewell Parrot heads, it was fun partying with you.

Of course he did.....markymarker wrote:he did not try to sway voters before the election until now.
And why should celebrities not be allowed to support their candidates? That's kind of like saying, "You're wealthy enough to have a computer and an online account. You shouldn't be using that to support a candidate when poor people without a computer don't have that opportunity." One is as ridiculous as the other.....

what i didn't like and correct me if i'm wrong....didn't you have to vote when you got the tickets....now what if you were still undecided and wanted to hear what Obama is all about in person?? also if i'm not mistaken Obama wasn't there......and last if a celebrity sways your vote...then there is a problem!!...i put it in the who cares category!!!....i'll still go....i have friends who's political or any other opinions they have that i don't always agree with....they are still my friends!!1SchoolGirl Heart wrote:Of course he did.....marky mark wrote:he did not try to sway voters before the election until now.![]()
