I think so ... but as a mom I am probably biased!

But seriously, both my kids pretty much listen to the same music as I do ...
(except for Springsteen... they are not much enamored with him either ... not sure why, tho ... I will have to ask them next week.)
In fact my youngest just went to see Dylan Tuesday night. :)
I offered to take my daughter to see Springsteen, she told me he wasn't cool. I am hoping to get her to U2 the next time they come around.

My 21 month old son does like everything you play for him(granted he really can't tell me what he likes and dislikes). We listen to "Breakfast with the Beatles" on Sunday and he can clap along to "Eight Days A Week". He does "Fins to the Left, Fins to the Right" with his hands whenever he hears "Fins" by Jimmy.

Its really hard to list all of the music i like in a top 10 format. I would say I have 2 number ones and then a bunch of other artists i really like, not so much one more than the other.

#1 Bob Marley/Jimmy Buffett

Country: Toby Keith, David Allen Coe, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, Montgomery Gentry, Alambama, Merle Haggard, Chris Ledoux, Kenny Chesney, Tracy Byrd, Brad Paisley

Seattle scene/grunge/rock: Nirvana, Pixies, Alice in Chains, Meat Puppets, Sound Garden, Blind Melon, Pearl Jam, STP, Primus, Toole, Jack Johnson, Sublime, Fugazi, Orange 9MM

Ska/Punk/Reggae: Yellow Man, Black Uru, Peter Tosh, Skankin Picke, Buc O Nine, The Wailers, Operation Ivy, Middlefinger, Dance Hall Crashers, Suicide Machines, Descendents, Sick of it all, NOFX, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Ramons, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Deak Milkmen, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Vandals, AFI

Classic Rock: Eagles, Allman Bros., Marshal Tucker.

Rap/R&B: Cypress Hill, Afro Man, Beasti Boys, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest.

Heavy Metal: Metallica, Pantera, Mega Death, Slayer

I could go on and on for hours those are just some of the artists i like.
I know I dont get there often enough but god knows I surely try

snip to save space

Seattle scene/grunge/rock: Nirvana, Pixies, Alice in Chains, Meat Puppets, Sound Garden, Blind Melon, Pearl Jam, STP, Primus, Toole, Jack Johnson, Sublime, Fugazi, Orange 9MM
One of the NY papers had a review of the new album from the latest winner of the Great American Karaoke Contest a/k/a American Idol. The reviewer said it was the final nail in the coffin of grunge and if Kurt Cobain could hear it "he would off himself again." :o

That's pretty harsh....I can only imagine what it sounds like.

I thought grunge was dead like 10 years ago...

Five all time most important to me.
No particular order.

Jimmy Buffett
The Beach Boys / Brian Wilson
The Eagles
Billy Joel
The Beatles / John / Paul / George / Ringo - together & solos

Maybe that should count as ten

Reminds me of the places I've been.
Visions of good times that brought
so much pleasure
makes me want to go back again."

Jimmy might make my top ten. No matter critically or just for fun, he isn't #1 and never will be on my list mainly because there are much better artists out there. His shows are always a blast though. But even still that wouldn't be ranked #1 either.

Impossible to do in order but this is close

Lynard Skynard
The Outlaws
John Hiatt
Little Feat
Eric Clapton
Rolling Stones
Jackson Browne
Jimmy Buffett/Warren Zevon tie
Beach Boys
Thin Lizzy

I would have to have a whole different ten for blues artists, my favorite genre.
