Cinco de Mayo SUNDAY@ the MSC
Good morning BN. On this day, a Mexican victory over the French is celebrated, so the guacamole is on the house at the Morning Star Café.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Re: Cinco de Mayo SUNDAY@ the MSC
We are going to be celebrating later with Grilled Peppercorn Chicken soft tacos and adult beverages. I am finishing up some chores so the house will be in order for my busy mother's day week at the flower shop. I'm on the schedule for Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri and Sat. My feet are already complaining!

Have a great day!

Good morning boys and girls.
No celebration here. Having brunch with friends, some chores, visit with Mom, then out to dinner. No Mexican food involved

Good morning. There are some Cinco de Mayo celebrations in towns, some are at bars and restaurants, some are outdoors. I think I'll pick one of the outdoor ones.

Hi, Penny. Yes, I’m fine.
All the major flooding has been in Western Iowa along the Missouri River- 240-250 miles away- and in Eastern Iowa (specifically Davenport, IA and the Quad Cities) along the Mississippi River, about 65 miles away. I’m usually safe from any flooding. My house is on very high ground and not near any major river or stream. If my house ever gets flooded, it would be so bad, Noah and the Ark wouldn’t be able to save any of us.
But things in Davenport are grim at the moment.

Beautiful day here in California’s Sierra Nevada foothills. Garden work, mostly weeding, on the schedule. Ran across two BN type stories some might be interested in. First, great read about Jazz Fest here: https://www.npr.org/2019/05/04/72016978 ... st-go-down . And a story from Tom McGuane about Fly Fishing with old friends: https://www.drakemag.com/back-issues/20 ... iends.html
JIMMY BUFFETT
I must have known Bubba for over forty years because that's how long I've been married to his sister. Our original iteration was as Key West hell-raisers. He is a painstaking lover of fun and adventure and applies his family work ethic to all he does without losing the piratical twinkle when he is contemplating his next, often unexpected, move. I have no idea what it will be but I can't wait to find out.

We've had so much rain this weekend it's more like "Soak-o de Mayo".
Who's got the rum?

It's Cinco de Mayo and I don't have any Mexican beers in the fridge. That's a rookie mistake.

Margaritas and nachos (w/ chicken, black beans, Anaheim chilies, cheddar, and pepper jack, backed up with Pico de Gallo and sour cream) here.
If it's a drinkin' holiday, we're staying home.... too many drunks in the bars, and too many cops looking for drunks on the road.

Re: Cinco de Mayo SUNDAY@ the MSC
It's the 5th of May. We had brunch with friends. Visited Mom. (She enjoyed pictures of her/Dad/me when I married Cameron's Dad in 1982). Dinner out at a long time bar who moved to a larger location. At no time did we have anything resembling "Cinco De Mayo".

Cheese curds and fried pickles. LOVE them, ate about 4 each, and it'll be my lunch tomorrow.
