That’s really eerie.LIPH wrote: ↑July 13, 2019 12:38 pm Good afternoon. It's 90 degrees and the heat index is 103, I think this will be an indoors kind of day.
I was reading an article online about last night's LA Angels game. Earlier this month they were on a road trip and one of their pitchers, Tyler Skaggs, died. Between the road trip and the break for the All Star game, last night was their first home game since he died. As a tribute to Skaggs, the entire team wore jerseys with his name and number instead of their regular jerseys. They won 13-0 and two of their pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter. The article pointed out a couple of interesting facts:
1. The Angels scored 7 runs in the first inning and 13 in the game, 7/13 was Skaggs' birthday.
2. The last time 2 pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter in a major league game in the state of California was 7/13/91, the day Skaggs was born.
I was #20 when I played high school football. That's about the only thing I have in common with Mike Trout.Wino you know wrote: ↑July 13, 2019 3:19 pmThat’s really eerie.LIPH wrote: ↑July 13, 2019 12:38 pm Good afternoon. Not so eerie is that Skaggs and Mike Trout both played here (Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels when the team was an Angels affiliate) in 2010. What IS eerie about that is that Trout’s number was 20, and Skaggs’ wore # 10.
Glad to hear you're making progress.SMLCHNG wrote: ↑July 13, 2019 4:29 pm Hi all. Finally able to sit at my desk/computer for a minute.. YAY! And I did walk about 300+ yards this morning - with my walker and back brace.
Hope everyone will enjoy today's show.
I'm heading back to the couch. SO ready to be 'normal' again, but it's sure better than I was 2-3 weeks ago!![]()

Total Wine !!! Loved our visit there when we were in Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago......we will never have one here in PALIPH wrote: ↑July 13, 2019 4:30 pm I decided to make my weekly visit to Total Wine so I could stroll through the beer section and see what they had available as singles that I might want to try without having to buy a full 6 pack of a beer I've never had. When I left home it was still hot and humid but it was a bright sunny day with a beautiful blue sky. I got to Total Wine, about 7 miles away, had a couple of free samples of fruit flavored hard seltzers (not worth buying, in my opinion), bought 6 singles and left. As I was walking to my car it was a little overcast and it was raining lightly, as in not bad enough to need the windshield wipers while I was driving. I got about halfway home and the sky opened - thunder, lightning, rain coming down so hard traffic was moving at less then 20 mph on a main highway where the speed limit is 55. The buildings in the condo development where I live are 4 stories high, I was less than 1 mile from home and I couldn't see any of them. It took me 45 minutes to get home, it's usually a 10-15 minute trip. It's still pouring.
Glad to hear you are making steady progress and feeling better, Penny!!!SMLCHNG wrote: ↑July 13, 2019 4:29 pm Hi all. Finally able to sit at my desk/computer for a minute.. YAY! And I did walk about 300+ yards this morning - with my walker and back brace.

That is cool! Let's them know very clearly that he was with them in spirit and they responded in kind.
