All I know is if we get saddled with Wrigley again Iām just going to Indi instead. Wrigley is ruining live music.
He definitely won't play Wrigley this year.
The Cubs schedule doesn't work out with the tour schedule

I hope Jimmy decides to end the summer at Alpine Valley in late August as he did for several years. It is always a blast and a great way to bring the summer celebrating to a close. If he plays Alpine on July 18 I will have to miss the show there as I just bought a three night pass to String Cheese Incident at Red Rocks that weekend.

Was emailing a contact over at Live Nation about possibly getting season or VIP tickets for Alpine Valley this summer.
The package he sent over to me stated that it includes the first 6 announced events.
Sounds to me like Alpine is going to have a busy summer

Trying to rationalize that there will be an announcement for Alpine Valley this year. So, Jimmy has an album to promote and support and surely visiting the largest venue on his traditional tour stops is a must for sales purposes

Dave Matthews was announced for Summerfest today.
Makes me wonder who else can be playing at Alpine that a Live Nation rep said at least 6 events

I saw the Dave Matthews announcement as soon as I posted my last comment. My heart sank for Alpine Valley. I'm just waiting to hear the cancellation of Journey or re-scheduling to a city of Milwaukee location

Phish just announced their summer tour, and no Alpine stops. Jimmy hasn't announced anything for Chicago/Wisconsin..hoping there is still hope..

For what it's worth, the last time Jimmy came out with new music, Alpine wasn't formally announced until May.
Keep the hope alive. Alpine wouldn't be selling season tickets if they only had one show all season

I think it would be far too easy to cancel the Journey gig and refund any season tickets sold...which is probably less than 10
The Phish announcement just adds to the pessimism.

Trying to clutch at straws...
I see Phish have no Chicago/Milwaukee/Minneapolis/Iowa area dates so perhaps they will announce at Alpine date to address that market.

Guns and Roses just announced Milwaukee area stop and "yes", it isn't Alpine Valley.
Geez!

If past history is any indication, the longer we wait, I think the better off we are for an Alpine announcement.
We can look at past tours, and I don't think there has ever been a time in recent memory where Jimmy hasn't played in Chicago or at Alpine in the same year.
We know for whatever reason, the Alpine show always seems to be the last one announced. I really think July 18th at Alpine will be the date.

For what it's worth, hotels in the area are jacking up prices for the weekend of July 18th

The prices are high, but the Democratic National Convention is in Milwaukee that week also.
During the week almost impossible to find hotel

That is true, but the convention ends on Thursday the 16th. Don't know how much spillover for hotels there would be on that following weekend.

For what it is worth, I have heard some rumblings that Jimmy might be playing Target Field in Minneapolis.
I know Apline is past the territory limit so there could be a show here and there. Just a thought

Seems odd. Last year at Alpine was not only PACKED, it was a really unique and awesome show that Jimmy seemed to really connect with. Six encores!

He's doing a lot of venues every other year now that used to be every year. Star Lake, Camden, Manassas are just a few examples that used to be annual stops but now seem to be every 2 years.
