Many people know I love the Houston Astros. There was no way they should be in the playoffs and yet, here they are.
The Rays won 3 games in a row of a best of 7 series. And then the Astros win 2 in a row!!
Who are these guys??? LOL

Keep fighting Astros!!

The evidence that Houston was still cheating in the 2019 ALCS appeared to be pretty convincing. But you also have to ask: if they were still cheating, then how come they actually lost all four home games of last year's World Series and won all three road games? If they did still have a sign stealing system at their home ballpark in 2019 but not on the road, then that doesn't make sense. It could have just been a fluke that it worked out that way despite their advantage.

Cora is officially back as Red Sox manager for 2021. He did very little if anything wrong when in Boston- the blame was on JT Watkins- and will always be remembered fondly for delivering such a memorable season. But because of what he did in Houston, I still don't think it's a smart move bringing him back. His every move will now be scrutinized. And a lot of people still see it this way: even if he didn't cheat in Boston, he still wouldn't have gotten the Red Sox managerial job in the first place if he hadn't cheated in Houston.

Speaking of managers.... Detroit Tigers welcomed manager AJ Hinch into the fold a week ago.
Not going to speak to the Astros scandal that took place, just hope ultimately he can achieve some of the success that happened in Houston in a less controversial manner.

The new owner of the Mets had a press conference yesterday. He said if they didn't win a championship in 3-5 years it would be a major disappointment. He should prepare to be disappointed.

I saw an article online about the tentative realignment of minor league baseball for the 2021 season, there will be 120 teams instead of 160. The Carolina League, where the Pelicans play, has been Class A Advanced, a/k/a High A. Next season, 7 of the 10 teams (including the Pelicans) will be reclassified as Low A. The team in Winston-Salem, NC is the only one that will still be High A. Wilmington, DE and Frederick, MD are in the trash heap of baseball history.

Sadly MiLB is shrinking. One affiliate each in AAA, AA, advanced A and A. :( The short season A and Rookie leagues are getting spun off to independent and college summer leagues.

Colorado Springs has gone from AAA to the rookie Pioneer League to independent in 3 seasons. The Pioneer league started in 1939 and was a Rookie League since 1964, Next year it will be a "Major League Baseball Partnership League."

This morning on the MLB Network they were talking about the Hall of Fame vote, the results are going to be announced 2 weeks from today. They were talking to a baseball writer who has a vote for the Hall and he said he thinks it's possible nobody gets in this year. I wonder if that's ever happened before.
