I think the plan is a definite go for all shows on the schedule now at this time. The only thing that could change it is another Covid surge and I wouldn't rule that out. If we had waited until we reached 80% vaccination rate before lifting the mask mandate, I think we could have been over the virus. However, with so many unvaccinated people now running around without any protection, I'm scared of us moving in the wrong direction. I encourage everyone to do your part in continuing to move things forward. If you aren't vaccinated, please do so.....and continue to wear your masks until 2 weeks after you are fully vaccinated. I want to see Buffett this summer / fall and hope that we don't go backwards when all the tools are there to return to normalcy.

Why? You realize vaccinated people still contract and spread COVID? You can wait till 80% all you want, but it'll never happen. Shy of mandated and forced vaccination, there's a good chunk of people who'll never take the shot. Even 70% is stretch.

We are just going to, gasp, learn to trust each other. Most will do the right thing, some won’t. Beyond that there really isn’t anything we can do accept live our lives and let others live theirs. I’m saying this as a fully vaccinated person who lives in a state where most people want to get vaccinated. But I accept people’s personal choice if they don’t want to get it. Personally, I will still go to Red Sox games, concerts when they happen, crowded bars, etc. knowing some people chose to not get vaccinated but are lying about it. I can’t let that effect how I live and I’m not going to waste too much time thinking about it. I’d rather live by trusting people, even if it is misguided trust, then have our government force us to wear our vaccination cards around our necks.

An 80% vaccination rate nationally will never happen, not even close. Lucky if they get to 55% nationally. Certain states will get around 70% at best. Mass will be one of the states, by this weekend Mass will hit 50% fully vaccinated and have another 1M+ that are awaiting their second dose. Broken down by adults only in the state, 65% are fully vaccinated. And if there is another surge it won't be in Mass unless the vaccinations don't work on any new strains then we will have bigger issues other than Buffett not playing.

I happened to do a quick research today and checked what if any job opening they have at Great Woods and what I found is great news. Tons of jobs posted yesterday, parking lot attendants, guest services, ushers, merchandising sales, security, concessions. So once the state announced a May 29 opening they immediately starting to make plans to hire.

And bands immediately rescheduled for 2022. Only 4 shows at Great Woods between now and August. 4 shows . . . then Buffett . . . . then KISS who just rescheduled the majority of their tour. Strange things are afoot in Mansfield. All that hiring . . . must be for that late August - September run.

The new pickup line in bars is I'm vaccinated. Here is my take, if you lie, You are lying to friends and yourself. Also, what else has that person lied about. And granted some don't care for others but themselves. We will see. I'm vaccinated and ready to go.

Live Nation has also been scheduling shows there. Same with the Meadows in Hartford. CT will probably hot the 75-80% mark of vaccinations. I have a BIL who won't get it because he passes out at the site of a needle.

Unfortunately we didn't have JB & The Reefers in the fold from 2020 so we're losing out. Curious if Jimmy will amp up the Arena shows in light of the situation & may allow a chance for the D, Toronto, Chicago, maybe St. Louis get an opportunity prior to the Florida shows.

The local shed Pine Knob aka DTE Energy Music Theatre has had a recent surge in shows booking for September & even into October with the likes of Zac Brown, Dierks Bentley, Alice Cooper & others . While shows being held in September has become more of a norm these days October shows are rarities.

Some shows are still on the books for Mid July on that were rescheduled from last year, some others already rescheduled to 2022. Here in Michigan we're hopeful to go 100% by July 4....but.........TBA

Hey, Ken! :D It's good to see your post! That certainly is good news, I hope the same is true here soon. It's sure been awhile, I hope you are doing well?

Dte has more shows to reschedule than dates available....

September is a crap shoot weatherwise ...it might 90 and sunny or it might be 35 degres 40mph winds with sleet . Hardly Buffett weather.

Faster horses is on but as I said in another thread with brad Paisley bailing on them it's now highly unlikely Jimmy makes a surprise appearance there now....despite the mystery surrounding Jimmy's Facebook adding it as a Jimmy event in the summer of 2019 before the s*** hit the fan

Youre more likely to get Kenny Chesney as David Lee Murphy and Kelsea Ballerini are both on the lineup

I did hear something today about Live Nation venues in CT and NY will be checking for vaccination ID's. They don't want the liability if someone does get sick , and god forbid dies. I'm not sure on MA yet. But, I'm guessing they will follow suite. The fake vaccination ID business could get pretty big soon.

If this is the case I probably wouldn’t go. I can’t even imagine the sh&t that would be. You’d spend you entire day in line. If anything I’d hang back at the hotel party and leave at line 7:30 for the venue. Go in late. I’m sure the parking lot after the show will be fun. Good luck getting us out because I’m sure people will be taking their sweet time.

Edit: was anyone explicitly told that they need to keep their vaccination card? I wasn’t. Was it ever like a defined legal thing that you need to hold o to this card for a certain number of days?

I don’t think venues will be able to ask for your personal medical information.

I know Fenway Park isn’t asking when they go 100% next week. Why would Great Woods?

Fenway isn't owned by Live Nation. I was told to keep it (Walgreens where I received my shot). Especially early if you wanted to fly. Some places were doing free lamination of the card or piece of paper. I just put it in my wallet. It was just something I heard last night.

Yeah I wasn’t suggesting you were wrong. I am saying good luck to any venue who is asking for private medical records. If you are going to open full capacity I think the best thing is to just open. If you are going to open but require people to bring medical records and check everyone (again, I can’t imagine this actually happening logistically. There would be like a 3 hour + wait. I’m sure that wouldn’t cause any problems) then stay closed.

Getting through security at a relatively small venue like Great Woods (20 k capacity roughly) is a pain. Who are they going to have checking vaccination cards? A bunch of teenagers working minimum wage? They can’t be serious.

I almost want to see this sh*t show happen just to see how absurd it gets.

Same here. But there are already fake ones for sale on the internet anyway.

After I got the second vaccination, the nurse who stuck me said I could go to Office Depot and get the card laminated for free. She also told me to make a copy of the card, have the copy laminated and keep the original at home. This is in case you have to get a booster shot 6 months or a year from now, there are 2 extra lines on the card so they can add it below the date of your second shot.

But nothing from the state you live in regarding any potential legal responsibility to display the card to someone who isn’t your primary doctor or employer if you work for something like a municipality? I haven’t heard anything reading any obligation to do so from any government authority in Massachusetts. It’s your personal information just like any other medical record.
