Jimmy and Delaney have post the sixth video from Songs You Don't Know By Heart, this time the song is "The Night I Painted the Sky" from the 1996 album Barometer Soup. Jimmy does a great job with this and has a very unexpected emotional reaction at the end.

This has been a great series. Even for a cynic like me.

Re: 6th video from Songs You Don't Know By Heart
One of the things I really enjoy about this series is the way we get to see Jimmy "at work." It is obvious that he has not practiced each song to the point where he can do them without the help of any aids. Seeing him struggle, hearing him sing off key, those are things I've never seen before (the typical senior moments during concerts not included).
I listen to a decent amount of Jimi Hendrix. Obviously Hendrix cannot put out new material, but what is released tends to show the creative process Hendrix went through. It is fascinating and I appreciate being able to hear the genius at work.
I hope that whatever CD we get will show a little bit of the inner workings. I will appreciate any recording that has these songs on them, but I will appreciate it even more if I get to see what went on "behind the music."

It's rare to get a chance to see someone "in the moment" and being themselves like what this series captures. Were this being done by someone other than family I don't think you'd get the same feeling to it. Delaney calling Jane on the phone for "Mandolin," and the very unexpected emotion at the end of "Painted the Sky" are real moments, and I hope Delaney can appreciate what she's getting to see, and that she has much more video than we're getting to see of her dad. They'll be things to treasure later in life.
Whatever actual live and in person shows that occur in the future should be ones to appreciate. They won't last forever, we all have a shelf life.

Now I've got a terminal daydream,
That's something you'll never know
I keep it right here in my backpack, mon
And I take it wherever I go.
