I don't drink a lot of stouts but I've had both the oatmeal stout and the chocolate stout. The oatmeal was OK but the chocolate is a delicious beer, smooth chocolatey goodness. I haven't tried the strawberry yet.

Has anybody seen the movie 1917? I saw it back in late January/early February, the last time I was in a theater. It's been on Showtime a lot the last week or two, I DVR'd it and I'm watching it now. I don't know if it won any awards but it got the HOG Seal Of Approval and that's all I care about. [smilie=coolup.gif]

We’ve got a 5 o’clock brewery stout and an IPA in our kegs. And a lot of swing cap bottles of smoked porter, Russian imperial stout and a barley wine and and and and ........

We have it on our list of movies that we either find on Netflix or at the local library.

Two of the characters are brothers. The actor who played the older brother was Robb Stark in Game of Thrones. The younger brother was Tommen Baratheon in Game of Thrones. The Starks and Baratheons weren't the best of friends.

I worked in a sky scraper for 13 years. The building was 69 stories, the firm had 30-37 and sublet 27 for a couple of years. I had offices on 27, 31, 33, 34 and 37. I liked 27, it was a different bank of elevators so most of the rest of the firm left us alone.bodypainter wrote: ↑December 8, 2020 7:06 pm There's a pot roast slow cooking in my winter studio.

Well, I just got finished wrapping all of the Christmas gifts and they are under the tree. I just realized that the grandkids are due to arrive next weekend... since TTUN has cancelled THE Game

this Saturday (grrrr), I will have more time to get my cleaning and baking done.

No thanks. I became seriously afraid of heights while pregnant with our daughter in 1990. Went up the Ponce de Leon light house in Florida. Half way down I froze, had a panic attack of some kind and had to finish going down Backwards with Kevin behind me and our 2.5 yr old son in front.LIPH wrote: ↑December 8, 2020 7:25 pmI worked in a sky scraper for 13 years. Re: National Brownie Day TUESDAY @ the MSC
The only time it bothered me was when they washed the windows. Rockefeller Center is old, I think it was built back in the 1930s or early 1940s before office buildings were hermetically sealed so the windows open. The window washers would come around, open the windows, climb out and strap themselves in while they stood on the window sill. I always left my office until the guy was done, I didn't want to be there if his strap broke or if he slipped.Saltx3 wrote: ↑December 8, 2020 7:56 pmNo thanks. Sorry, Larry. I was venting. I don't actually hate sky scrapers.
I hate painting them.
I also don't do well being high up in the ones with solid glass windows.( insert Curly's noise..yung, yung, yung.)

Believe me the school and the BoE know my husband and me by the sound of our voice. I will never stop advocating for my son. We are lucky that he is on the somewhat higher end of the ASD, but that doesn't mean they need to buck on their responsibilities. I realize that there is a pandemic going on, but to literally watch a meeting with the Superintendent and hearing her say "she doesn't give a damn if the kids fall behind in reading or writing" makes me angry on a whole different level.

Re: National Brownie Day TUESDAY @ the MSC
Hello and goodnight, boys and girls.
Fun (mostly) reading back from the day.
E and I stopped at our favorite brewery tonight as today was their 9th anniversary. We were there on day one, and haven't missed an anniversary since. We sat outside. It was 48 degrees. They have some new fire pits on the patio. We didn't need one. Had one beer each, wished the staff that was there (2) a happy anniversary and it was appreciated. We texted the owner, too.
There was a very popular food truck there, and several people came by JUST to get food from the truck. (Not unusual) A few people sat outside to eat their food. It was kinda obvious that they were only there for the food when a couple asked "Do you have wine or mixed drinks"? Uh, no. Just beer.
And on that note, I'm off to the couch before bedtime. Only a half day tomorrow, as I'm having an EMG test to see how my nerves are working.. or not.
G'night.
