Kids are still here and the excitement that happened last night was a bat flew around the house. The kids were freaking out. The thing is we paid a butt load of money last spring to have the ridge line on roof closed off and we were told we were good to go.

Waiting for a call back from the "wildlife specialist" The thing is that they are supposed to be hibernating now and they are"endangered" so it's illegal to kill them.

Then we woke up to no hot water.... pilot light won't stay lit.... waiting for a call back from the repair shop.

And I'm on my way to get yet another blood test, when I just want to snuggle with my kids.

just not hot water.

I have caught bats in fish landing nets by scooping and flipping the net bag over itself. Then, I release the critter safely outside. Tough on the lil' critter in this cold.

Bryan actually found one a couple of years ago in the attic, put on fireplace gloves, caught him and put him outside.... they just give me the heebie jeebies.

Happy last Monday of January gang! Only 7 short days until we reach February. Yet here in our neck of the woods in Michigan we haven't seen but one snowfall that may exceeded 3 inches. Talking maybe an inch or two overnight & tomorrow. I'm good with this situation.

we dont currently have bats at the courthouse; however, there are ALOT of bat SH@* crazy people here.

Speaking of Bela Lugosi, Dracula is on TCM tomorrow at 11:30am. I already set the DVR in case the weather's nice and I go outside. It's been raining pretty much all day today.

Good morning/afternoon! We stayed up way too late, so slept in a lot. It's kinda past breakfast time, so we're heading out for some lun6, somewhere. Had a great day yesterday!

No bats or housing issues here...

It was raining earlier, then foggy, and now the sun is trying to peak out.

Hot water tank is fixed...just needed a thermocouple. Which is amazing since the unit is original to the house...30+ years. Of course they advised us to strongly consider getting it replaced... which is prudent advice.

I have stuffed peppers ready for the oven for dinner tonight and the kids are finishing up hot dogs for lunch.

I'm doing laundry and I promised the SIL Cranberry Orange Scones....so that's on my agenda after lunch is cleaned up.

The bat guys are coming in the morning to see what they can do to help us out...we never see them unless the kids are here. We are pretty sure it's because we crank up the heat for the kids and it makes them wake up looking for a way out.

I got my first shot of Pfizer's Finest yesterday. I've never been to a Chick-fil-A so I can't make a comparison, but everything went fine. The injection spot is a little tender, otherwise no issues. Hopefully the first step in getting back to some kind of "normalcy".

I don't want the bats either! Which is why the pest control guys are coming in the morning! Yuck.
