It's Tweed SAT @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning All!

Today is NATIONAL TWEED DAY :o . How many of you have some hanging in your closet? (I've got none).

NATIONAL TWEED DAY

On April 3rd each year, National Tweed Day focuses on all things tweed. This day has a couple of approaches to celebrating the day, so you decide which one you believe is the source of National Tweed Day.
Some people think the observance celebrates the senator-turned-crook William “Boss” Tweed. Tweed was born on April 3, 1823. He was the wealthiest and most powerful politician of his time. While being considered the “poster boy” for political corruption, Tweed is still known by many as one of the most notorious politicians in American history. He died in 1878, in jail, after being caught with millions of dollars of stolen public money.

No tweed in my closet either.
I got my lab results back from Thursday. No MRSA and No Covid, but I started an antibiotic yesterday for a minor infection that they said I have but I have no symptoms of.🙄. I'm being lazy for a bit this morning and then I'll clean house 🏡

Good morning ladies. I had a tweed sport jacket with elbow patches and wide lapels in the seventies.

Talk about cold! We had 16 today and it's the start of trout season. I'll pass.

A bear pulled down my feeders last night, but didn't smash them . I usually quit feeding birds by now, but I have extra food. I have to bring the feeders in at night till the food is gone.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good afternoon. Years ago when I worked in banking, late 1970s or early '80s, I had a tweed jacket.

I'm going to take a ride to the old Pavilion Park near the boardwalk, there's something called Smoke On The Beach going on today. It's a bbq festival. Maybe they'll be some good brisket or pulled pork, and a frosty beverage to go with it.

I have 4 weeks on the books. Taking a day here and there until we can decide where to go for a real vacation.

I got to the bbq festival and didn't have any bbq. There were a couple of women sitting at a table selling tickets, the bbq crews and vendors weren't accepting cash. There was a sign on the table BBQ SOLD OUT. At 1:00? It's a nice day so I went for a walk on the boardwalk instead.

Yay Moog!

3 years ago I started taking the whole month of Aug off (which for us, is only 2 weeks of leave) but others got jealous & b!tched about it 🙄
So last year bosses made a new policy that if we took more than a week off, we had to work a week in between...
Ok, I'll play by your rules...now I just take off a week each month (Apr-Oct) which equals more time off than just Aug

I had extra because of covid schedule last year couldn't use them. But we have to use all our days now or lose them. Basically I'm only working 12 to 13 days a month, throw in a sick day or personal day and this year will be easy

Thank you Penny. ❤

We had to get car at the repair shop in Conroe. So, while we were out, I found a nice Dollar Tree. We have some smaller ones close but they don't get the good shipments. This one had so much that I had been looking for.

And since ir has been drizzling, I got some steps in. :)

Tweed?? None here. My Daddy used to have wool tweed pants...he had them in brown, navy and greenish. He loved them. I was never a fan. 🙄
