Good morning Bill.

I’m ready to go maskless in public.

The sun is shining, temp heading to low 70’s. Most of my outdoor work is done.

Kevin had his 1st 4-hr work shift yesterday since surgery. Went well, just tired which was expected. He gets his 2nd covid shot this morning.

Have a GREAT day everyone.

Mornin BN'ers....

absolutely no reaction to the 2nd Covid shot, besides a VERY sore arm. Thank goodness it is in the left arm and won't hamper my Happy Hour beer drinking activities.

Big dog Charlie Girl is going to the vet for a check up and shots. Big guy Beacon is confused and whining.
So far I am not having any side effects from the J&J vaccine except minor soreness at the injection site. I'm holding my breath since Bryan was pretty nauseous the day after his.
As long as I keep feeling ok, I'll probably get busy with some house cleaning chores.

The side effect I had after my shots was hearing the yellow album over and over and over in my head.

In reference to my post yesterday, someone posted this on the local community Facebook:

"I support our men and women in blue. Turning onto Panther Parkway, heading to our bus lot I passed a good deed. An older gentleman must have had some landscape stone delivered to his house across from the school entrance. The stone was dropped in a huge pile on the road. One of our local Officers had pulled up to the house, stepped out of his car & picked up a shovel to help the man get the stone off the road. That poor man would have been at it for hours. Thank you East Pennsboro twp officers for a job well done.
Edited: I guess it was dirt from work on his front yard."

At least they referred to me as an "older gentleman" and not "some old codger" :pirate:

Good afternoon. It's a beautiful day, mid 70s and low humidity. As soon as the laundry's done I'm going to grab my iPod and go for a walk around the neighborhood.

The Pelicans were teasing us. After starting the season with a 3 game losing streak, they won 4 of the next 5 games. They lost last night 10-2 with another 14 strikeouts and only 5 hits, all singles.

I was the opposite. I asked if I could get the shot in my right arm because I'm left-handed.

Competing with 6 and then later 7 other people at the dinner table while growing up, I learned to eat with my
left hand and drink with my right. Nothing slows me down.

Well I now know what it was like to be a slave working on the Egyptian Pyramids, well not really but plenty of chores and other work done yesterday (Saturday).

On Friday night we had the first of our vaccinations. Talk about a botched roll out of the program - back in April when I first became eligible for the shots I followed the advice and booked in at my GP. I got an appointment for August ! :o

On Thursday evening, out of sheer curiosity Mrs Rabz looked for bookings at the local health service (read that as state run hospital) and got us bookings for Friday evening. All good. On Friday afternoon the hospital rang and asked us to come down early as they were bored because they had so few bookings !

The Australian federal government had 3 things to do with regards the pandemic:
1. Organise quarantine and border control for returning citizen - complete botch, they simply closed the borders denying citizens permission to come HOME. Then they dumped quarantine onto the states (It is a federal jurisdiction)

2. They had to organise buying the vaccines. Of the 50 million doses they 'secured' only 2 million were delivered. They then had to set about sourcing others which they failed at. Local companies have spent huge amounts of money and time to start manufacturing here - so now the rollout can occur.

3. They had to organise the rollout and administer the vaccinations. Again they dumped the bulk of this on local GP's (i.e. local doctors) and the state governments to organise.

Anyway rant over. Did I ever tell you guys that I hate politicians of all types?

As for the side effects, I liken it to a hangover - Headache, nausea, dull head etc. So I decided to treat it like a hangover. My never-fail hangover cure is simple. Harden up and get on with the work at hand. This seemed to work and as I have plenty to do getting this joint ready for sale and clearing 15 years of accumulation I was able to keep busy and it did help with the symptoms. Although when I stopped for lunch the 'hangover' came back with a vengeance ! When I called a halt for the day I was simply exhausted so I don't know if that was from the vaccine or just getting old and doing too much :) It's now Sunday morning and things are better, just a sore spot at the injection site but still too much to do!

So the espresso machine is on, there is bacon to fry, the weekly shop to do, then back into the house stuff.
