I know there have been a lot of disparaging remarks around here about scalpers & "true parrotheads" & some of the inflated rates on the ticket exchange board, but sometimes they do work. Just back from the mailbox, and I have four badly needed additional Atlanta tickets in hand (plus a money order), and the person who sent them has in hand two great tickets for one of the Vegas shows.

We both got the tickets we needed & walked away from the deal smiling -- some of the stuff on the exchange is over the top, but it's worth sifting through there.

I just got 2 tickets to Jones Beach on the BN ticket exchange, and the guy was so cool. He just wanted face value, nothing more.

Now if I could just get seats to Camden!!!!

I just got my Alpine tickets yesterday, from a broker asking only about $10 more than face value.

It was an offer I couldn't pass up.

Keep checking back to Ticket Exchange, it may be worth your while.

Lizzyphin - I think you owe me one BIG apology! See! Brokers ARE needed AND wanted! You proved my point , thank you! Now, how about that apology, since you told me to go screw myself.

Oh, come on, guys -- I just started this thread to say that, in spite of all the disparaging remarks & some of the nastiness about scalpers, brokers, etc., it is possible to make equitable trades from time to time with people you find through the ticket exchange, and yet the anonymousity follows..

Why, anon, that almost sounds as if it were an amicable admission? Would it be too much for you to admit to some of us making good trades?

First off, that broker I bought tickets from is still making decent money off me and others, no matter how many tickets he/she had to sell.

Second, we don't NEED brokers. If there hadn't been any, the tickets wouldn't have sold out as fast as they did, and we would all have had a better chance to get tickets for FACE VALUE from ticketmaster.

So too bad, but no apology here.

LizzyPhin, your statement is partial correct. Your right in the fact that if brokers were not buying tickets that everybody would have a better CHANCE at tickets. Key word is chance. You have venues that sell 19,000 tickets yet there are 30,000 people that want to go. There would still be a sizeable amount of people getting shut out only know they have absolutly no chance of going because there are no scalpers or brokers to buy from. You need to choose the lesser of two evils... either paying a broker and having the time of your life at a JB show or sitting at home counting your saved pennies. Me... I'll see everyone at the show!

Phin tastic - The deal is Lizzy told me to go screw myself. I didn't go postal, just asked for an apology since SHE'S buying tickets from a broker! If she can't say sorry then neither can I.

Well Duh - I missed your post somehow.
Nothing wrong at all with a good trade. According to old hippy though, that should be illegal.
