First Concert in 8 Years (and first ever sober)

I've been to over 25 shows, most of them were in the 1990's and early 2000's. I took a break after my kids were born and then took them to their first show about 8 years ago. Have not been back since, until Jones Beach last night. Here are my general observations:

1. Parrotheads truly are the greatest people. Fun loving, friendly, caring, light hearted...
2. But, there are not a lot of us out there. Luckily, their friends are pretty cool too.
3. I have complained about Buffett before. I take almost all of it back. He is an amazing performer and his ability to speak to and engage a crowd is second to none. I still wish we could get a few more gems into the setlists, but at least it is not the same setlist every night. I will take what he is willing to give and just be freaking happy about it. The Margaritaviile corporate machine is a separate and distinct entity.
4. One Particular Harbor is the only song he has to play at every show.
5. The band is truly great and I adore every single one of them.
6. If you have never seen a show in the pouring rain you are missing out. Not a single person was dry and not a single person sat down.
7. I do not need alcohol or any other mind altering substance to have a good time at a Jimmy Buffett Concert. As the song line says "I can't be the old me no more." It was something that worried me, but it was all good. New chapter started.

1. Parrotheads truly are the greatest people. Fun loving, friendly, caring, light hearted... [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] Would add always willing to help a fellow Parrothead (or non-Parrothead) out too!
2. But, there are not a lot of us out there. Luckily, their friends are pretty cool too. It is a dwindling army....as in your case, duty calls elsewhere in stretches sometimes
His spirit is 2nd to none...keep waiting for him to go grumpy ole man & mail it in....just ain't happening
4. One Particular Harbor is the only song he has to play at every show. Good Call..
5. The band is truly great and I adore every single one of them. So Important & Underrated
6. If you have never seen a show in the pouring rain you are missing out. Not a single person was dry and not a single person sat down. :o Prefer to see him dry (other than going in wet from tailgate pool party)
7. I do not need alcohol or any other mind altering substance to have a good time at a Jimmy Buffett Concert. As the song line says "I can't be the old me no more." It was something that worried me, but it was all good. New chapter started. Have not done so yet, but I'm not worried about it. Just went to a ZZ Top & John Fogerty show about a month ago sans alcohol & I was still my ole Fist pumping/sing-a-long/goofy self
