Just didn't want this buried in the MSC - in case people didn't see this on Facebook, either.

Don't know the reason - but there are many of us with broken hearts today..

Sail on, "son"...

This just took my breath away this afternoon. I can't even....

Sail on, Zero. There are no words to capture how much we'll miss you. Please give all the other BNers up there a hug for us.

I posted this in the MSC but it probably belongs here, too. How Scooterboy got his name...

He was out on North Roosevelt on a beautiful Saturday morning. I believe a lady in a minivan turned in front of him and he had to lay the scooter down. He showed up back at the Casa with a lump on his collarbone (sure looked broken to us laypeeps) and a big scrape on his shoulder blade. He refused to go to the ER. Later that day he was having trouble breathing and one of the guys gave him an ultimatum: "Dave, we're all too drunk to drive you to the ER. I'm calling an ambulance or a cab, you decide." So off they went in a cab to the ER. Many hours later he returned, the ER having declared he had a cracked collarbone.
After MOTM, Dave flew home, and during an MSC chat on Wednesday (the old days, with 50 pages a day), he was asked if he'd seen a doc yet. Um, no. So peer pressure was applied and he went to the ER. We didn't hear from him for several hours, during which Dave discovered he did indeed have a broken collarbone... and a broken leg... and THIRTEEN broken ribs! And thus, the Legend of Scooterboy was born.

Rest in peace, Zero. You are already SO missed.

Ya know when you think about an old friend who you haven’t seen or talked to for a while, and you decide you should really reach out and touch someone, but it’s the middle of the workday, or the middle of the night, or it’s dinner time, so you put it off to a “better time”? Sometimes you regret it. I so wish I would have touched base with him one of the many times I thought about it. I’m crushed.

Big hugs to all.

The only thing I have seen is that "he had been ill" - from FB/BN'er posts.

Ah - and another story. Back in 2002 - My Dad and I went to Illinois to see my brother Dan (for the last time), and one of the nights we were there, Dave took me to my favorite Greek restaurant (The Parthenon) to take my mind off my brother. I had a bunch of good laughs, and I will never forget that.
