Just got done waiting on phone with IRS with a client for nearly an hour. Message had stated wait time was estimated to be more than an hour, but by how much more is anyone's guess. Client had to leave so we'll try again tomorrow morning. [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]
Time to grab a quick bite & then pursue other chores. Enjoy your last Tuesday of 2021 gang!
Last year when everything was locked down, I had to cancel a trip. I tried to cancel my flight online but Delta's website told me l had to call customer service. The recording said my estimated wait time was 4 1/2 hours. A little over 2 hours later, a human being picked up. I used about 50% of the battery power on my cell phone.
The company I currently work for offers 'flavors' of customer service. Clients/employers can purchase for their member employees a dedicated or designated customer service team with guaranteed wait times v. routing into a general queue. With the former, calls will be answered in less than a [purchased time frame or get $ back], or even faster depending on selected staffing levels. With the latter, calls just fall into the abyss of "You are 17th in queue and your estimated response is 7 minutes" or whatever.

When did good, prompt customer service become an extra thing to be sold/purchased? Also, get off my lawn.

I did that earlier in the year when JetBlue changed my KW flights. I think I was on for 6 hours. I just plugged in the phone and had it on speaker till someone picked up.
