Good morning Linda. The Pelicans have their first home game of the season tonight, I'm going and I have low expectations. They haven't made the playoffs since 2017 and that was the last time they had a winning record. On the bright side, it's supposed to be 80 degrees today. But that was the forecast yesterday too and the high temperature was only 71.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

80 ??? Lucky you. If we hit 60 today it will be a near miracle.LIPH wrote: ↑April 12, 2022 10:50 am Good morning Linda. Game time is 7:00 tonight and the gates open at 5:30. I don't really want to get there too early, but on the other hand I don't want to get stuck all the way at the far end of the parking lot. The first home game of the season is usually one of the few sellout crowds they have.

Re: Anyone here TUESDAY @ the MSC
Hi there! It rained through the night and gave way to a gorgeous, though cool day on Erie Bay. I could hear traffic noise in the distance, but the lodest sound was from seagulls.
I thought of Garry today. I fished close to a park where Club Trini played during a festival in 2008. Visiting with Garry. I found he was there.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Re: Anyone here TUESDAY @ the MSC
Two weeks ago our she-keet
Nicole was in London on a business trip and flew home to SF on Friday (April 1st) with plans to catch a connecting flight to Seattle to attend a friend’s Bridal Shower that weekend. Her flight from LHR was delayed 3 hours and she missed the connection (bad news) but was able to sleep in her own bed (good news) that night. She flew to Seattle the next morning and spent four days with us before flying back home to SF on Wednesday. She then flew to LA on Friday to be in another friend’s wedding. She was supposed to fly home to SF today and then fly on Thursday to Florida with fiancé Matt to visit his ailing maternal grandfather. Last night they got word that Matt’s paternal grandfather passed away last night and so they are now on a plane flying from LA to Newark. SFO to LHR, LHR to SFO, SFO to SEA, SEA to SFO, SFO to LAX, and LAX to EWR in the last 15 days!
On the brighter side, Nicole and Matt have set a date for the nuptials... April 15, 2023. Gotta love it, two CPAs getting married on tax day!
Now only if I could take the bill for the wedding off on my taxes...

Re: Anyone here TUESDAY @ the MSC
Back in September when I hit “the wall” at work Kevin and I started to look at me retiring in the near future.
At that time I reached out to a friend who is a partner at a firm I worked for from 85-89 and then again from 97-08. He was pretty sure the firm would have something for me when I was ready to move forward.
In the fall. Kevin and I met 3 times with a Christian financial planner who attends our church. We came up with a plan for me to work 25 hrs/wk at a salary that combined with my county pension would keep the Ringers in our current “lifestyle” without needing to dip into our investment or savings accounts.
6 weeks ago I met with Frank to discuss the part time work/retirement plan. He went to the firms business committee partners and advised today that there aren’t any part time options.
I just texted the judge to let him know I won’t be at work tomorrow. I’m really disappointed and this certainly won’t help my attitude going forward. Good thing I have 55 combined sick/vacation days to tap into.
For the past 13.25 yrs I have loved my job but September was a turning point and I am no longer that person. there’s been 3 “come to judge meetings” since then so the judge knows it as well.
