Good Morning BN!
Who knew ?
NATIONAL PENNSYLVANIA DAY | JULY 20
National Pennsylvania Day on July 20th recognizes the second state to join the Union. Once the home of the temporary capital of the United States in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is also known as the Keystone State. While the source of the nickname has been forgotten, the meaning is not lost. Bridge builders know leaving the vital keystone out of their structure would be folly, leading to collapse.
It seems what they knew about building bridges has been long forgotten -- most of our bridges and ALL of our roads are in horrible condition.

Good Morning Ladies......lurkers.
Regarding your roads Linda, Michigan says "hold my beer" & watch us outdo you on that front!!
They're ridiculous. I'm needing to take may car in as we speak to deal with my car's front end issue from traveling here in Pothole City
Enjoy your 20th day of July gang!

Good morning gang. We have more bridges than all 5 states that border us. Pittsburgh is the number one city for bridges, beating Venice.

Good morning BN!
Not many bridges in Colorado, except the ones over water in the mountains. The one over the Royal Gorge is one of the prettiest and scariest, for those who don't like bridges.

I went over it many times when we first moved to Colorado, but it's been years since.

Good afternoon. The morning DJ on the local station said today is also National Hot Dog Day. I don't think I'll be celebrating that one.
The Pelicans haven't played since Sunday. Monday is always an off day but their next game isn't until Friday. I think the Carolina League is having an All Star game this year, the last one was in 2019, but there's nothing on the Pelicans website.

Good afternoon. Keystone State nickname came from the state's central location among the colonies and
"holding the other states together" at the time of the revolution.

Afternoon BNers
All Star game was good. I wasn't paying much attention except when Astros were playing. Framer Valdez pitched first and was good as usual. Also saw Kyle Tucker bat. He didn't do anything great, but he was there and AL won! Of course, it was fun watching Dusty Baker.

I'm at Old Chicago. Lunch has been had and I'm sipping a frosty adult beverage. I should finish it and get home. I just got a weather alert on my phone, there are severe thunderstorms in the area.

Did the guy with all the home runs (Alvarez, I think) make the All Star team? I saw him play against the Pelicans when he was on the Buies Creek Astros, who are now the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, and he was a great player in the minor leagues. I saw Tucker play too, he used to kill the Pelicans. He hit 3 home runs in a game against them.

I was less than a mile from home and it started raining. It was coming down so hard I couldn't see across the street. It stopped already and it's a bright sunshiny day again.

Dusty Baker called his tailor and had custom suits made for all his coaches last night. Wow!
