Good morning BN. It will be a comfortable day here. We eat at a favorite bar and pizza sounds good.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning, Bill & BN.

Another gorgeous day in Vacationland, sunny, hot, breezy. Heading out on the boat for lunch and then neighbors coming by tonight to watch fireworks, there is a swanky wedding event in town and they are putting on the show.

Have a fabulous day, y’all, :wench:
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...

Good Morning Bill & Nancy.

We enjoyed the Lyle Lovett & His Large Band concert last night. He put on an awesome 2.5 hour uninterrupted show and his band interactions were a nice touch. Got to learn a little about each of the 14 of them :).

We are heading to a local park tonight for one of the last Sunday Night concert series' performances. A Celtic band.

Off for some breakfast, then puttering around at home until mid-afternoon, when I'm going into town to catch a baseball game (LaCrosse Loggers).  The guy who owns the Northwoods League franchise here (Dan Kapanke, a former Wisconsin state senator) also doubles as the peanut vendor in the stands on game days, and they're doing a bobblehead promo featuring him in his 'Dan the Peanut Man' role.

Although I'm just a little bit skittish about going to the game.  LAST time I went to see the Loggers (the home opener on May 31st), I wound up in the hospital....

The legendary Leland Sklar is part of the Large Band and he's been posting nearly every day during the tour from whatever town they are in that day .
Here's yesterday's post from Lancaster:

I worked yesterday then we went to dinner at the local Mexican place.
This morning has been spent drinking coffee and making out a menu and grocery list. Bryan will go procure items on the list while I straighten up the house and do laundry.
We're excited to try a new recipe this week for Birria Tacos. Tonight however will be Spaghetti all'Amatriciana and a garlic and gorgonzola salad.

I've seen Lyle Lovett a few times but not since I moved off Long Island. The first time I saw him he was the opening act for Bonnie Raitt at Jones Beach. Does he still have the cello player in his band?

Good afternoon.
Chris Isaak wasn’t on the bill? Phriends just saw LL & Isaak twinbill within the last couple weeks. Said the show was outstanding!
Sad to say we had to flame out on the Zac Brown show after a bit
Friday. We saw the Robert Randolph Band & made it through the beginning of ZBB, but Lynn was feeling dizzy & not well & So we booked. Thankfully She felt much better by the time we made the hour drive home.

I heard Bill Russell died today, he was 88. One of the greatest basketball players ever and the first black head coach in any professional sport in the United States. I don't know if he won an NCAA championship when he was in college but he was an Olympic gold medal winner and an 11 time NBA champion with the Celtics.

Afternoon BNers

Astros are playing Mariners one more time. Good grief. Mariners won last night. Hoping for better results this game.

I need to do some laundry but they are still asking we conserve power until after 8pm. By that time, I am out of the mood.

My niece's softball team is playing on ESPN+ today. They are playing Latin American team in World Series. The game is at 7 but not sure what time zone. They are in Washington...guess I need to figure that out.
Everyone wish them luck.
If you watch the game, her name is Mia Post.

Bill Russell played at the University of San Francisco and won the NCAA Championship in 1955 and 1956. He was also on the 1956 Olympic team that won gold. After his Celtic years, among other things, he coached the Seattle Supersonics from ’73 to ’77 and has lived in the Seattle area ever since. Sail on sir…

The Astros’ record against the rest of the league is 56 and 31 (.643) and against the Mariners they’re 10 and 5 (.667). I think they like playing them.
Today’s game is the last time they meet this season until the Mariners beat them in October to go to the world series. 🤞

Indeed!
Not looking good for the M's today; both their All-Stars out with injuries and Altuve strikes again!
Edit: Looking a little better.... 8th inning heroics and the score is tied!

When NBA basketball first appeared on the television radar for me as a kid, for some reason I gravitated to the Philadelphia 76ers & Wilt Chamberlain over Russell & the Celtics. However those damn Celtics & more specifically Russell always had an answer for Wilt & the Sixers. He was a champ
