Caught up into the prop? Generally the more the prop rotates, the tighter it becomes and worse to get anything untangled.....I caught an old fishing net one day. Luckily I was near the National Park and was able to get to shore and and had a pair of wire cutters. I was able to turn the boat around and get the engine trimmed high enough out of the water and just sat and cut and cut.... Took the better part of an afternoon and nearly all of the beer rations on board to get it as good as I could. I did take it into the marina and they had to remove the prop to get all off the spindle, and then rebalance the prop.bodypainter wrote: ↑October 17, 2022 7:21 pmThe worst that happened to me was the bow rope got sucked up after it slipped overboard. It was November, but I was close to the ramp. After cranking the boat onto the trailer, I cut the rope. It popped like a big bow string.MICHIPHIN wrote: ↑October 17, 2022 7:07 pm On my previous boat, it was in the middle of the block facing inwards and easily accessible. It was way higher than the water line and no issue to change while in the water.
This guy changed mine while docked in the marina, so I am assuming the same. I just haven't looked to see where it would be and how easy to access.
We have a lot of shallow water here, with sand bottoms. Get a rock or two into the impeller, which is just made from a soft rubber and it shreads it quickly.
BOAT........Brake Out Another Thousand.
