Gear up for Thanksgiving MONDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning! The holiday season is about to kick off whether you're ready or not. While some pholks crank it up more than others for Thanksgiving it's pretty much a given you'll either visit with some extra family, eat a little more than normal, sip an extra adult cocktail or beverage, gain an extra day or two off from work or maybe fire up the Christmas shopping machine.
Count me in for Thanksgiving breakfast at my daughters' home & Thursday off work. The other items will be listed as TBD (To be determined).
Enjoy your Monday Gang!

Good morning, Ken. This wee used to be jam packed, but not so much now and that's okay.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning. This time last year I was a victim of my own poor planning, I had my last 2 wisdom teeth removed the Monday before Thanksgiving and I couldn't eat solid food.
I might take a ride to Grand Strand Brewing later and try the Gooooalden Ale in honor of the World Cup. Even though I'm not a soccer fan.

I won't be having a Gooooalden Ale today. The brewery doesn't open until 4:00 today, it opens at noon every other day. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday instead.

Afternoon BN'ers!
Super busy work morning. Sunny and upper 50's and it's beautiful!
Final packing tonight. E will drop me off at work tomorrow, then pick me up around 1:30, and we're off to Hays, Kansas for the night. Then into Tulsa/Broken arrow, which will take about 6 hours to drive.
MIL and SIL have the Thanksgiving covered.. I just have to help, and make my breakfast casserole for Saturday breakfast.

Evening, peeps.
Another cold and blustery day in Vacationland.
Charles, what kind of brine? Been using a brine bath recipe for years, immersed in the liquid for 24 hours. Such great flavor and the meat doesn’t dry out in the fridge all weekend so leftovers are great, too. Thinking about a dry brine this year.

It's 48° and cloudy here - set another weather record today: 14 straight days without rain, longest dry streak ever in November. The month of November averages 6.31 inches of rainfall but so far this month we've seen 1.67 inches.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but sometimes they have really good ideas....

Re: Gear up for Thanksgiving MONDAY @ the MSC
We will have a very simple Thanksgiving. It will just be the 3 of us.
Not sure about the menu, but Larry has ordered a turducken for the grill.
I imagine mashed potatoes, gravy, maybe fried okra, some other veggies, rolls and pumpkin pie.
Nothing special, but good enough for just us.

Re: Gear up for Thanksgiving MONDAY @ the MSC
ended up being a nice day, with the temp hitting nearly 70. Going down as the sun sets.........
We have a rather large Thanksgiving meal planned, with family and friends included. Maybe as many as 40 included. Not sure of the menu, but thinking beer is included.

Going to our youngest daughter's at our old house. Turkey
, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cheesy potatoes, fresh green beans, broccoli and cauliflower au gratin, orange cranberry relish, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie and an apple walnut cake. She and I will split the cooking. Unfortunately I have to work Wednesday and Friday.

Doing okay. Practiced going down outside steps with walker. Get a PET scan on the 30th to see if chemo is working.
