The Detroit Parrothead Club is throwing a big party to kick off the season!!

When: Saturday, April 27th

Where: Van Dyke Park Hotel in Warren

What's happening:

Two live bands will be playing. Party by the (indoor) pool with Caribbean Blue from 6-8pm. There will also be raffles and prizes throughout the evening.

Then on to the hotel bar with music by Air Margaritaville playing from 9pm-1am.

A hospitality suite will be available after the live music stops to continue the party.

Continuing our tradition to 'Party with a Cause,' We will be collecting toiletries and canned goods for distribution to a couple local homeless and abused shelters.

The hotel is offering us a GREAT half-price rate starting at $55 for a standard pool-side room. Call (586)939-2860 to reserve rooms and ask for the 'Parrot' rates.

Don't wait too long....even most that live close will be planning to book a room and stay. I called to book my room today and she said that reservations were picking up. We completely filled the hotel for our X-mas party a few months ago.

For any additional info, contact Melanie our party coordinator. melboyd@comcast.net

Hope to see you there!

sounds like a GREAT time Key!!
We're having an Earth Day festival that day here in IL, otherwise I'd make the drive...
The Central Illinois Parrothead club serves Buffallo/Veggie Burgers for us at Earth Fest...and play Buffett all day!
It's a good time, but it's hard to beat TWO Buffett bands pool-side....have phun!

Hey Key Limin! Had a ball with the Detroit PHC on Saturday at Kellys. There are quite a few of the Flint Area PHC that will attend your Beach Bash! Alas, Old Hippy will not be one of them. But look for our Newsletter Guy Matt (bucket hat, glasses and very young looking 24 year old U of M grad).

I wish the Detroit Club much luck and success - again thanks What About Bob (of Detroit PHC) for donating his winnings from the 50/50 back to the club. If anyone knows "Marcie" ask her to e-mail me.

Again, so sorry we can't join you - but three parties in a row is a little much for this Old Hippy with 4 keets! LOL - Don't forget In Living Soul with Special Guest Fingers Taylor May 4 at the Old Hickory in Fenton.

YIKIES - someone pass me that Hair of the Dog! (course if you just pass me Peter Mayer ...)

All of these parrothead parties in the Great Lake State are ok, but has anyone got the inside skinny if JB has got us in his tour plans? I got my first exposure to the real deal last year at the Palace and I'm chomping at the bit to do it again!

No dates and no rumors, but if I remember right we did not get added in last year until he took his summer break - and then we got the freezing November!

He's still slowly adding dates so not giving up hope yet!

HEY MICHIPHIN, WAS THE ROAD TRIP MADE WITH TIX IN HAND OR WAS YOU ABLE TO SCOOP THE DUCKETS IN INDY THE DAY OF THE SHOW? A ROAD TRIP SOUNDS GOOD BY ME BUT I'D HATE TO GET SHUT OUT UPON ARRIVAL.

Thanks Detroit PHC! Had a ball at the Beach Bash - so did Hubby and the four keets. Not often you find a kid friendly event.

KL - were you there? If so, so sorry we did not meet. Maybe May 4 at the Old Hickory.

Thanks again, you all put on a fun party
