Good Morning Gang!
Per info on facebook from Jeff Melia & others Jimmy joined Peter & Brendan Mayer last night at the Stephen Talkhouse. I clicked on some video footage showing them doing Pirate looks at 40. Realize it was a lonnnng way from going full blown tour, but Hopefully step 1 in the "back on the road" process? Stay tuned.
Corona by day, Corona by night, any old time is just alright!
I was very happy to see this.
I know Stephen Talkhouse is just down the road from his LI home, so it is not at all surprising he would stop in, IF he were able!
That big IF has now been answered, and it makes my heart glad!

Good afternoon. When I lived on Long Island I only went to Stephen Talkhouse once, the roundtrip was about 180 miles from where I lived. I went to see Ilo (remember him?) and Buffett opened the show. As I recall, he played about 45 minutes. Bill and Hillary Clinton were there too.
I went to see Dave Mason last night. On the way in, the people scanning tickets were telling everyone it was a 2 hour show with no intermission. Showtime was 7:00 and Dave and his band came out right on time. The venue is about 15 miles away and it was raining when I got to my car after the show. Between the rain and the traffic lights on Hwy 17, it took about 25 minutes to get home. I was in the door before 9:00. It wasn't a 2 hour show. It wasn't even a 90 minute show.
He did about 6 songs from his days with Traffic, Blind Faith's Can't Find My Way Home, a really good version of Bob Dylan's All Along The Watchtower and a new song of his own called Road Dogs about life on the road as a musician. He did a few of his own songs and the encore was one song, Feelin' Alright. It was a good show but it wasn't worth $84.

I remember both Ilo (played his CD only last week!) AND your tales of the show. Amagansett is not the end of LI, but it's pretty darn close to it!
Even my B-i-L who lives in NOFO will get a room down there when he goes to a show during the "off" season. If there is someone he really wants to see there in the summer he will drive home, but it's over 40 miles and about an hour drive! There is a reason it is named LONG Island!

We have seen Dave a few times.
.once at EPCOT. He really puts on a great show. Our friend Van Wilks toured with him awhile.

According to Setlist.com his 3 shows prior to the weekend were 16 songs with show times running 85 minutes, 90 & 90 minutes. Not sure if old Dave's got that much more in him than that. We saw him back in 2016 opening for the Doobies & Journey in what was billed as a "San Francisco" Tour. I'm gonna guess he probably did 8 songs.
I have a habit of checking the clock when a band hits the stage just for show reference. Most disappointing concert (length-wise) I ever saw was back in early 2000's when Bad Company played a whopping 80 minutes tops headlining a show. It was an outdoor show & I'm thinking they hit the stage around 8 pm cuz they were done before it even got dark! Granted they were beyond their heyday & it was a small 3,000 seat local venue, but IMO they had a boat load of hits, plus I was a fan of many many deep cuts. My poor wife had to listen to me p*** & moan the rest of the night.....

Hi there! I had a good eye report today and it rained for the first time in 22 days. Anne had to drive while it rained through the fog on the interstate, but only on the way to the appointment.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
