Good Morning Gang!
For those of us who worked Monday, then enjoyed yesterday off for Independence Day, now are back at the workplace today.
Let's just say it feels like a Monday reboot but thankful it's a hump day instead.
Enjoy your 5th day of July pholks!!

Good morning Ken.
I was surprised at the lack of fireworks last night. Some people in the subdivision behind me started shooting off stuff about 8:30 but a little over 1/2 hour later they were done. I expected to hear some more later but that was it. I'm not complaining.

Good morning Ken and Larry!
Today sure feels like Monday! And SO tired. The (illegal) fireworks from neighbors didn't stop till 10:00

so I couldn't fall asleep till 11:00.
Busy day here at work, and my motivation level is almost nothing.
But best get to it!

Afternoon BNers
Local fireworks were going off until after midnight and that isn't unusual for this area. However, they are usually making noise until after 2 am. Wonder if they will pick up tonight.
Astros play Rockies again at 1:10. Astros won yesterday so let's see what happens today.

I spent Saturday doing laundry and I made 2 Banana Cream Pies and a batch of Lemon Bars. We had a lovely family cook on Sunday at our old house hosted by our youngest daughter and SIL. Afterwards the oldest daughter and SIL and grandkids came to our house. Monday we didn't go anywhere, the kids took turns in the hot tub and Tuesday we all went to the beach and the kids swam, we had a picnic lunch followed by more swimming and then they left this morning.
About an hour ago we lost power and apparently the outage area is pretty large. I was stuck in the recliner but I managed to get out of it and now I'm just waiting for Bryan to get home and fire up the generator

I think I mebbee woulda just stayed in the recliner until the power came back on or until a rescue team showed up.
We were in Hawaii one time when to power went out on the whole western half of Oahu. We were listening to the radio in the car and someone called the radio station and said "Hey bro, anybody know when da power be back on? There are a buncha peoples stuck on da escalator at Ala Moana shopping center."

Around lunchtime the temperature was 87 and the heat index was over 100. Then it rained for about an hour and the temperature dropped to 75 and they're not reporting the heat index. Too bad it's still really overcast and it looks like it's going to rain again or I'd go for a walk around the neighborhood.

I would have but I had to go to the bathroom

As it turned out the power didn't come back on until 6:46.

Good evening. We’re back at Ringville after 4 glorious beach days. Travel to and from was easy even thought part of our stay was over the holiday. We took a lot of time trying to figure out our visit bc of the Tuesday holiday.
Our AC isn’t working properly. It won’t budge from 70 even though it’s running non stop. Repair isn’t coming until the 12th. We’re just hoping it doesn’t get too much warmer in here. Oh, and that the repair won’t cost a small fortune

I had a new art room with AC that ran at 66 degrees. Kids asked to go out in the hall to warm up.

Glad you had a good time at the beach!!!
Good luck on the A/C.
Our oven is crapping out.. it was set at 400 for 90 minutes and wouldn't get above 300, so we're getting a new one - hopefully by Friday. And one of the few advantages to living in an apartment - we don't have to pay for it.

So, that was fun. We had some sort of power surge and our power went off for about 5 minutes. Reset just a few clocks (microwave and coffee maker). Night light in our bathroom was out and so was the spare bathroom. The spare has a GFI button, pushed that and both came back on. Internet went out, but we unplugged the modem and it came back in a few minutes. Not weather related.
We're digging into disconnecting DIRECTV after over 25 years. Done paying the $$$ and we only watch some of the channels. So we're looking into all of the streaming services and comparing prices and channels received. E's doing an amazing spreadsheet to give us the details we need to make a decision.

Yep! First thing on the new shopping list is 9volt batteries!
