Freezer Pop SATURDAY @ the MSC

Good Morning Everybody:
Today is NATIONAL FREEZER POP DAY
In the heat of summer, National Freezer Pop Day brings the sweet chill of relief! On July 8th, grab one of America’s favorite ways to cool off with a frozen sweet treat.
Freezer pops have a long history – one that’s over 60 years old. And that history includes kids and summer fun. What’s better than getting outdoors and spending time with friends and family? Well, perhaps cooling off with a freezer full of freezer pops in every flavor of the rainbow.
What's your favorite? I like the red ones but we don't have them in our freezer very often except when the grand boys are visiting. They like the skittles brand flavors.
Stay cool & dry out there!

Good morning, Linda. Some years back, I was eating a lot of freezer pops. Popsicles in my youth were summer comfort food. Even during tough times, mom had them available.

Good Morning Bill & Linda!
The freezer pop (or popsicle as known in my era & area) was always kind of meh to me. I'd have one & didn't talk negative about em, but I never really pleaded for mom to pick some up for the freezer.
Still on the fence about catching any concerts tonight. Just realized another moldy oldie is playing down in the heart of Detroit tonight, the band Rare Earth.

What a great group of songs they laid down back in those early 70's! I Just want to Celebrate, Get Ready, You Know..I'm Losing You & a some others. Granted.......obviously it's really a cover band these days. But one of the "Original" members who isn't able to play anymore has "handpicked" the guys playing these days.....so there's that
Enjoy your Saturday either in or out of the park everyone!!

Good morning. I like ice pops but I don't get them very often, I would rather have ice cream. I have some Klondike bars in the freezer, they were on sale and I had a coupon for another $2.00 off.

Afternoon BNerI grew up eating Popsicles in OK. Occasionally my Morher would use a mold and make something that special....great memories.
A few year when JB came out with Margaritaville freezer pops, Ryan and I ate boxes of them.
Another 92 degree day and humidity is up.

Hi there! We sat for a time at a boat ramp on Chatauqua lake in NY . I love boats, even if I'm not on them.

Speaking of being fat ...
I have a digital scale in my bathroom, I weigh myself every few days before I take a shower in the morning. I weighed myself today. According to my scale I've lost 30.2 pounds since last week. I'd be willing to bet this month's social security check, with 100% certainty that I would win, that my scale is inaccurate.

Maybe I'll have a beer first, then have a Klondike bar, then maybe another beer and finish the evening with some cherries.

(I couldn't find an emoji for a Klondike bar.

Hey Larry! Can I borrow your scale? I like the way it reads.
The usual Saturday here - Mom visit (actual words are becoming less and less), grocery shopping, liquor store, E got a haircut, and we're making burgers for dinner.
Best part? When we came home yesterday, we had a new stove!!

Two small/two large burners, and it's self cleaning!!!
Day started sunny, now cloudy and 81.
Ken? I loved Rare Earth!!!
No popsicles here, but we do have some chocolate covered key lime bars from Kermit's in Key West.

The Detroit Tigers pitched a no-hitter today, they used 3 pitchers in the game. The third one, Alex Lange, pitched for the Pelicans in 2019 before the Cubs traded him to Detroit. I remember seeing him pitch a couple of times, the Pelicans had the worst record in the league that season so his stats weren't very good. The Tigers 2nd baseman today, Zach Short, also played for the Pelicans but he was a shortstop when he played here.

I threw up 24 hours a day for 7 months. There was a drug called bendectin. Bendectin taken off the market tho. A popular medication for nausea and vomiting, known as Bendectin in the United States and Diclectin in Canada, contained pyridoxine and doxylamine. Bendectin was withdrawn from the United States market in 1983 out of safety concerns about teratogenicity, but no studies validated this possibility. I only survived because of it. I only gained 23 pounds, and Cameron was 6 lbs 10 oz.

With my first kid, I was nauseous pretty much all the time during the ENTIRE pregnancy, but never actually got sick... With my second, I never felt nauseous, but the need to vomit would come on without warning... all nine months! Needless to say, I actually did not gain weight during either pregnancy. It was the only two times in my life I was told by a doc I was too thin! The kids were 6lbs 14 oz and 6 lbs 12 oz.

A) Of course Zach Short used to play shortstop. It only makes sense, right?

And of course the Tigers try to make him into a 3rd baseman
2) Conversely, Short
should be like 6'5" tall or something like that. Checking his stat page says he's 5'10"

Watched the 9th inning of the no-no at a restaurant across the parking lot from my office just before hitting the road to go to the concert
in Detroit just a couple blocks from the Stadium. Still many folks milling around in the parking lots down there tailgating & celebrating when I got there a little over an hour later. Us Tiger fans don't have much to celebrate these days so we take what we can get.
BTW....ended up going to the Collective Soul concert. They have a core of about 8-10 songs I'm familiar with & enjoy. Should have sprung for the lower level seats. Better crowd it seemed down there & view. Cheaped out & I was in the mezzanine. It's an old building over 100 years old so it was pretty damn hot up there & not much room to maneuver. It was a sell out per ticketmaster, but FORTUNATELY the 2 seats to my right were empty so that saved the day. Crowd in the mezzanine on my side of the building weren't as vocal as other parts of the building so the energy wasn't as good as I'd like it to be. Still, not a bad night out. Plus I made it outta the D alive, so I've got that going for me.......
