MONDAY (again) @ the MSC

Good Morning!
We did much of nothing yesterday (well, I spent a few hours at a friend's pool but that was about it). We had 3 storms blow through in between bright sunshine.
Today is the partial demo of our shower installed in 2020. Hopefully this will be the end of that horrific journey. We have started drafting a letter to the contractor but we're pretty sure he won't respond. He has an epoxy business and is a US government contractor so he's not your typical "fly by night - do work, take money - run & hide kind of guy".....just can't figure it out.
Anyway - the Township starts a 10-hr day, 4 day work week today (it doesn't affect me as I am part-time with a short Thursday and off on Fridays). But, Im usually at my desk between 7:30-7:45 each day and the rest straggle in around 8:05. For them to be at their desks and working at 7 am and hanging on until 5:30 might be difficult. So I'll arrive "late" and leave "early" for the next 8 weeks. It's great to be part-time

.

Good Morning Ladies....BN'ers to come!
Thanks for reminding me it's Monday Linda. Was hopeful I had lost my bearings & it was Wednesday or Thursday......
I
really need a vacay. Hopefully the week of the 24th I'll be off enjoying parts unknown.

Good morning Linda, Deb, and Ken!
Good luck on the shower stuff, Linda.
I authorize a vacation for you, Ken!
Not ready to be back at work today.
Still playing with 'new' TV stuff. Gonna call today to disconnect the DIRECTV.

It's been a challenge to learn all the new stuff. I've had satellite TV for
27 years!!!

Good morning. It's supposed to rain today and we could get up to 2 inches. I was going to wait until tomorrow to do laundry but since it looks like I'll be stuck indoors I might as well do it today.

It is already hot. 93 feels like 106. Ugh

Good grief it is hot. But the time I walked from the car to the store, I was dripping. From what I understand, the temp is controlled by corporation. I am sure they are not in HOT HOT HOT Texas.

Wish I could talk to them.
Found what I needed...for a change....plus an orange laundry basket!!!

My brother that was visiting from Oklahoma headed to Virgina yesterday. His wife is there visiting her sister.
Then they are headed back to OK. While he was in town it was a whole week of golf, poker, and cigars. He also got
to meet all of the new grandchildren. Brother Frank is the best golfer, but I dominated the poker table.

Watching home run derby.
Couldn't watch. Was busy doing chores before I fell asleep, and before that I was on the phone with DIRECTV cancelling our service. Very sweet girl, who was in Huntington, AL - helped me.. They wanted to charge $225 for an early contract disconnect fee. Uh, no. I did not have a contract after 23 years. Seems when they replaced a defected receiver (and I have their protection plan just for these kinds of things) they listed it as a new contract. She texted a supervisor who agreed it should be waived. And there is no immediate disconnection, California is the only state who does, so we'll still be paying/receiving service for another week.

At least that's over with, but slightly sad about it.
Now I'm off to the couch where I'll probably fall asleep in 3, 2, 1, ....
