Good morning BN. I'm spending time with Anne, including a drive, shopping and lunch.

Good morning Bill. It's National French Fry Day and World Of Beer is having a French Fry eating contest tonight. Every contestant starts with 2 pounds of fries and whoever finishes first, or as the contest rules say "gets them down and keeps them down", wins $200. I think I'll pass.

Morning BNers
Another sleepless night but this one was drug induced. Gotta love steroids, but they help me not sneeze.

Good morning Bill, Larry, and Molly.
2 pounds of French fries??

Uh, no thank you. The large size from McDonalds that I had yesterday was plenty for me!
Hope you sleep better tonight, Molly!
Back at work today, but not much to catch up on from being gone yesterday/

Good afternoon folks. Itβs a very toasty day at Ringville but at least itβs NOT a humid. Yay!
There may soon be some before dinner margaritas on the upper deck of Calamity Cove

Aloha, peeps. Had an absolute blast with the GFs. No one got arrested and we have a September get together calendared.
And just wrangled a refund from a medical provider that tried to hit me with some sketchy up charges. Pay attention to your bills and statements, this was buried in the middle of a bunch of other line items.

I did take a nap. However, remember when we had the storm and power failure with the broken window?. Again, Ryan heard another noise in the window area. More of the glass fell out out side. As he was retaping it, the blinds fell down again. The blinds hit everything in the area....Ryan, table, his stereo and blu-ray. It broke his blu-ray. Luckily, we have another. Ugh. What a mess.

Anne knows enough to call insurance on bills that should be covered. I think of the poor people who dutifully pay those extra fees.

Funnily enough, "French Fires" should be called "Belgian Fries". During the First World War some American troops were deployed in Belgium and discovered a local dish called "frites". As the locals all spoke French it was assumed that they were in France so they became "French Fries".
One of my favourite dishes is "Moules Frites" mussels cooked in white wine and garlic with fried shoestring potatoes. A Belgian & French classic.
