Nat'l PENNSYLVANIA THURSDAY @ the MSC

Good Morning from Pennsylvania !
I've lived here all of my life (pretty much in a 10-mile radius in Lancaster County).
National Pennsylvania Day on July 20th recognizes the second state to join the Union. Once the home of the temporary capital of the United States in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is also known as the Keystone State. While the source of the nickname has been forgotten, the meaning is not lost. Bridge builders know leaving the vital keystone out of their structure would be folly, leading to collapse.
Keystone State Pennsylvania played many roles that could be considered keystones. To begin with, its vote for independence split between eight delegates. Because of this, the split played a vital role in deciding to move toward independence and cementing the union of the newly formed country.

Good Morning Linda.....BN'ers to come
Congrats on Nat'l PA day! Based upon my history lessons growing up, I mostly identified PA as the Quaker State. Maybe it's due to marketing associated with Quaker state oil.
Looking forward to putting the wraps on these last 2 days of the work week. Looking more & more like I'll be taking a "Staycation" next week.
Received notification about a Dr. appointment scheduled for next Wednesday. I don't recall it had been definitively set. Didn't find any paperwork or appointment card. However If I postpone I wouldn't get in until September. Think I'll stick with it.
Looking at doing some day trips maybe. An overnighter to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
could be on the table. We'll see.
Enjoy your 20th day of July everyone!

Good morning Linda and Ken. The weather is supposed to be a little more comfortable today, 92 degrees and a heat index of "only" 105. The weather guy also said the heat and humidity could lead to severe storms but on the "severe weather" scale we're only at 2 out of 5 so maybe the storms won't be too bad.

Good morning Linda, Ken, and Larry!
A lot cooler here this morning at 68 degrees. And we had thunder/lightning at 5:00 am!!

That's a rare thing.
Work is work.. some days the ignorance/stupidity amazes me. How do these people get through life??
I was in Philly once and Buffett in Camden later.. I think that counts for today's theme.
Nothing else newsy...

We are "On the Road Again"...back to Orlando. This isn't my idea but is Larry's Birthday trip. Why was he born in JULY!!!??? It is going to be too hot. But it is his choice. Between melting, we will have fun.

I was in Philly once
I forget if it was when I was in 3rd grade (the last year we lived in Brooklyn) or 4th grade (my first year on the Island of Long) but my teacher was a native of Philadelphia. Every year she would organize a trip to Philadelphia for all the 3rd graders in the school (or 4th graders, whatever year it was), not just her class. We went into Penn Station and took Amtrak to Philadelphia. I remember seeing the Liberty Bell but the rest of the trip is a little hazy, it was more than 60 years ago.
I've been back there 3 times since then, twice to see Buffett when he played in the ballpark where the Phillies play and once just to hang out for the weekend. It was an easy 2 hour drive from Long Island. The time I was there for the weekend, I left the hotel in the morning to go somewhere for breakfast and I saw Carlos Santana walking down the block.

I worked my 2nd half day yesterday and today I've got my bonus grandson

We made 2 loaves of banana peanut butter bread and they are in the oven and he discovered that the remote control lights in the pantry has a disco ball setting

There's a stained glass window in the pantry door so of course it looks

cool. He's asked for a cheese quesadilla for lunch and then I have stuff to make s'mores.

Hi there! You had me at banan bread, Tammy, till I saw peanut butter.
Quaker State headquarter was in Oil Cuty, 20 miles away, but rumor had it that the wife of the new CEO didn't like the town and they moved it to Texas. I boycotted the brand.
The little resort lake I fish is ringed with cottages and nice homes in the middle of farm land. Two women kayakers were close when one said to her friend,"there's fish in this lake? You didn't tell me there was fish!" in a panicked voice. The other woman told us it was the other one's first time kayaking. She then told the novice of a video of a bear swimming across the lake. I had to make it worse with, "Bears like to climb into kayaks!"

Well, then... Happy Pennsylvania Day!
I lived there for 4 years (in western Chester County) and I do not remember hearing about this "event"!
I do know today is Moon Landing Day, though!

That it is, Elaine!
It's also the day that I met Zac Brown Band at an Eat and Greet 11 years ago. Got to shake his hand!
And Cameron is sober 3 years today.

Bill, I also make a mean banana nut bread too! I'll need your address so I can send you and Miss Anne some when I do my Christmas baking. So you don't like peanut butter how about other nuts?

We made it to Daphne, AL. Went to eat at Garden for dinner and back to the room. Love driving by USS Alanama.
