Good Morning Everyone! -- Have a wonderful day wherever you are and doing whatever you do
Today is National Book Lovers Day. I love to read but I need the physical book -- never read a book on an electronic device.
A day for all those who love to read, National Book Lovers Day encourages you to find your favorite reading place, a good book (whether it be fiction or non-fiction) and read the day away.
A few fun facts:
The very first books used parchment or vellum (calf-skin) for the book pages.
The book covers were made of wood and often covered with leather.
Clasps or straps kept the books closed.
Public libraries appeared in the Middle Ages.
Public libraries often chained the books to a shelf or a desk to prevent theft.

Good morning Linda.
I'm re-reading A Song Of Ice And Fire, the series of books that Game Of Thrones was based on. This is my third or fourth time through the series and I'm up to volume 3 of 5, A Storm Of Swords. I should go to the book store and see if the author ever completed the series, I think there were supposed to be 7 volumes.

Good morning Larry and Linda!
Back at work, hopefully the whole day. Feeling a LITTLE bit better today, but the sore coughing muscles are awful!
We think we have all of Mom's accounts notified, which went better than we we did Dad's.
And yes, I like books. I prefer paperback/hard cover over electronic, but I have no objections to them.

Just started one that I can't remember the name.

I went to the Pelicans website to see how they did last night, they won 14-2. They brought in a relief pitcher in the 8th inning when the score was 13-1. He didn't allow any hits but he walked 3 batters and threw 4 wild pitches. Somehow he only allowed 1 run. They brought in a different pitcher for the 9th inning.

Another fan of books here, but I prefer my Kindle..... "real" books seem so heavy!

Hi there! My mother was an English teacher. She took me to the library every week of my younger years. I grew away from novels in adulthood and sadly now read only on my laptop. Typed print is too much eye strain.
At Walmart a clerk tried talking an older woman out of sending a $500 gift card to a friend who contacted her. The woman couldn't find a gift card for that much. The clerk said "That sounds like a scam. Don't do it." I repeated that too. The woman asked, "But where can I find a card?" We finally convinced her ( I think) after I told her to call the friend and verify.

I love to read. But I am at the point where I just can't. Maybe if I had large print books but regular print is too hard to focus. Since I use my phone, I can't make the font large enough.
Btw...Tucker just hit a 2 run homer.

If I had realized today was Book Lovers Day I may have done better than 4 in my Wordle this morning!
I enjoy the ease of reading on my Kindle, especially outside... but I do miss the feel of a "real" book, so I go back and forth.
As a kid, one of my biggest treats was filling up a school bag each week with library books! I am thrilled that my love of reading was inherited by both of my kids, and has even rubbed off on my husband, who said he hated reading when he was younger! But now he rips through library books on his Kindle at a record pace in retirement!
