Good morning Penny and Linda.
I was phoneless this morning. I always turn my phone off when I go to bed at night and when I woke up this morning it wouldn't turn back on. There's a Verizon store walking distance from where I live (but then anywhere is walking distance if you have enough time) but it's only an authorized dealer staffed by sales people, not a "real" Verizon store with techies who can help you. The guy I spoke to said if my phone wasn't paid for yet (it isn't) I could pay it off and get a new one or if it was insured (it is) I could go to phoneclaim.com and see if they could help me. I went home, went online, entered all my info and the problem with the phone and I got a pop up box that said "There appears to be a malfunction, please call ..." whatever the number was. No phone, can't call. I went to another Verizon store about 7 or 8 miles away that's a real Verizon store and the techie guy I spoke to there got my phone working in about 10 minutes.

Nothing much happening here today. There was a miscommunication with my boss
When I went back to work after my hospitalization etc. She said that the shop was very slow and to only come back half a day on Monday and Wednesday. I feel confident that I can add Friday and be fine. I was planning on talking about it with her next week
Well she texted me early this morning about when I got there she might be gone delivering an early funeral. So I texted back and then she called and said she thought when I left Wednesday that I said "see you Friday". Honestly this weekend is the music and arts festival in town and a lot of the downtown streets are closed. I feel confident that I can walk several blocks to the shop (downhill) I am also confident that walking several blocks (uphill) back to my car would be an issue. So I didn't go to work today.
So I used my time to tidy up and run a steam clean cycle on the oven.

Afternoon BNers
Feels like 111!!! Omg. Another good reason to stay inside.
Justin Verlander pitches at home for the first time tonight in 2023. Let's hope for a great, winning game.

Hey, y’all.
Somehow got myself on the hook to make fried eggplant parm. Which I love, especially when someone else makes it. Suggested a ‘healthier’ faux-fried version, baked in the oven, and was immediately shot down. Wish me luck.

I just got a severe thunderstorm warning on my phone and there are some really dark clouds out there. I'm glad I wasn't planning on going to the Pelicans game tonight.

Hi there! It was a perfect ( almost) day on water. The wind was a bit much.

Breaking news - Rob Gronkowski is vacationing in Myrtle Beach. They showed a couple of pictures of him at the start of the 6:00 news, he was at a putt putt golf course. I would have figured him for a titty bar kind of guy, not putt putt golf.

Nah... he is just an over-grown kid! He probably enjoyed the golf much more!!

I will be honest... I prefer the baked method. Fired eggplant slices are like oil-infused belly bombs! Unless of course you don't actually like the taste of eggplant, in that case, then fry away!
