Good morning BN. Every August weekend has a festival around here. The largest industry in thr=e world started in my home town in 1859. The first producing oil well was drilled. Today there is a parade, craft fair, art show, beer fest and it's going to rain.

That sounds so nice for your town......not so much for incoming rain

Good Morning BN.
Grandson Austin will arrive at 2 and stay until early evening on Sunday. Our son is on a 6-week military training in St Louis, Missouri and Deanna has to work this weekend. He's a 9yr old bundle of super charged energy. His Nonny and PopPop are not

.
Only plans we have are a concert/musical show that we got tickets for back before we were on "duty" but We were able to snag one for him. The show is a local theater company that started the nationally famous "Sight & Sound" production company. Tomorrow morning we will head to church. There are several county events this weekend but most end at 4pm so that won't really fit into the schedule.
May need to head to the bowling alley or play a round of mini golf. I better check on our Tylenol supply

.

Good morning Bill and Linda.
No festivals for us here today. I'm sure there are many to pick from, but it's not on our agenda.
We're off to Renew (where Mom lived) to clean out her room.

This is NOT going to be fun or easy. At least there isn't much left to go through. Over the years we have eliminated more and more stuff. This was her room when she first moved in August 2019. Since Covid, and space for visiting, we haven't been in there for a while. My sister and I got a large flower arrangement "From Mom" for the staff. I wrote this little blurb for the card. There'll be lots of tears today.
To all the special "Givers of Care" - I thank you for taking such great care of me, even under the most difficult of circumstances. I wasn't always able to express this to you, but I am grateful. And you gave comfort to my family that I was safe and cared for. Thank you for everything. I will miss you all. But now it's time for ice cream.
Time for some toast and get ready.

Austin will be arriving soon and we're planning on a hike around a local wooded lake. Hopefully those woods will help give us some shade. Our "feels like" temp is currently 92. Although, he's 9 and doesn't care about heat

Good afternoon. I was going to do laundry today but then I checked the weather app on my phone. Tomorrow's heat index is supposed to be 113 so I'll wait and do laundry on a day when there's no reason to unlock my door and go outside.

Afternoon BNers
Astros and Verlander played a great game last night. One As hit 2 home runs!! Hope tonight's game is as successful.
Another hot day with no rain anywhere in the area. Feels like 112.

Hi there! It rained HARD! The parade was held early, but the craft fair and car show got hammered.

The only way I'd go to a craft fair would be if I was hammered

So it all works out I suppose...
