So our BN/PH Friends aren't able to visit this weekend so we having nothing on our schedule. I was going to swim today but woke up to rain.
Since our weekend schedule cleared and it's National Movie Weekend (a lot of $4 movie tix out there) I just ordered tix for us on Sun evening to see the new release "The Hill".

Good morning. Tonight is my Pelicans game of the month, they're playing the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. The Cannon Ballers used to be called the Intimidators because the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt was born in Kannapolis, NC and he was known at The Intimidator. I don't know why they changed the name to the Cannon Ballers.
The Pelicans are on a 3 game winning streak. They were losing 7-2 in the 7th inning Tuesday and won 9-8 in 10 innings. Wednesday they were losing 2-1 with 2 outs in the 9th inning and won 3-2. Last night they were losing 3-2 in the 9th inning and scored 1 run to tie the game. Kannapolis scored 2 runs in the 10th inning and the Pelicans scored 3 in the bottom of the 10th to win 6-5. I'm hoping for an easier win tonight.

Good morning Linda, Bill, Larry, and Deb!!
Have fun, Bill!
Hope the Pelicans do well, Mr. Lawrence.
Enjoy the movie, Linda!
We were supposed to be headed out a few hours to SW Colorado to visit an old friend. But her daughter is ill, so we'll be rescheduling in a few weeks. So we have only things at home, and grocery/liquor store errands. Still weird not visiting Mom on a Saturday.
Enjoy your Friday!

Afternoon BNers
It was 109 yesterday!!! Wondering if the devil was celebrating our Anniversary. Lol Only 104 today. We had a clap of thunder last evening!

It really startled us. No rain.
We are in a SEVERE drought and under water restrictions. Also power restrictions.
Astros/Boston game was horrible yesterday. Astros lost 17-1. It was bad enough that the catcher pitched the last inning.

Soooo, it's currently 59 degrees. And raining. Two days ago it was 99.

Yesterday was 95. Wish I could send some your way, Molly!

I think I should have gone to the Pelicans game last night instead of waiting until tonight. Yesterday was a nice comfortable day, the temperature was in the mid 80s and the humidity was low enough that they didn't bother reporting the heat index. Today the temperature is in the high 80s and the heat index is close to 100. The sun will still be out for the first 2 or 3 innings so it will be hot. At least I don't sit on the 3rd base side of the ballpark, which gets the afternoon sun.

We had an event at Kenyon college today. 300 sunflowers floating in shallow bowls. We grew our own sunflowers. Well the past two nights we had really heavy rains and the sunflowers got all beat up. We had a couple dozen in the shop and we were able to add 50 to our shipment for this afternoon. We managed to squeak by.
The big dog goes to the groomer tomorrow morning and our new loveseat should be delivered by 1:30.
Bill... hope you have an awesome time!

I'm with Penny in wishing I could ship some rain down your way! It has been crazy wet here! My lawn has NEVER been this green in August in the 29 summers we've lived in MA!

We would gladly take any moisture. Been about 50 days since our last rain. A few spots in the Houston area got some drizzle the last 2 days but not here.
