I had not been to a Buffett concert for several years, but this place, and the parrotheads I met here and at concerts are things I treasure. Many a concert night spent hanging out with friends on buffettnews. This is a sad day for all of us but we were so lucky to have him, his concerts and all the memories created because of him. My thoughts go out to his family as they grieve their loss. May his memory be for a blessing.

Woke up to this terribly sad news.

Jimmy brought so much joy and positive energy everywhere he went.

This is like losing a good friend and not having the chance to say goodbye.

Thank you Jimmy for the wonderful songs and memories.

God bless you.

We will keep your music and phun vibes alive!!

It's a sad day here in Key West. People are leaving flowers and margaritas by his recording studio. Somber parties at Captain Tony's and Margaritaville. City is doing a second line procession to honor him tomorrow.

I barely come here anymore, but had to today. He had a huge influence on my life. Sail on Sailor.

It’s been years since I’ve checked this board. My little parrot head baby that carted to shows in Paris and London now towers over me. Thanks for the memories, JB. We’ll always have Paris (among so many other great shows).

You brought us a lifetime of great music, memories, and friendships.

Checked my phone and had texts from friends, many of whom I haven't talked to in a long time, all checking on me and letting me know they are thinking of me today. It's been fun going back through concert pictures, tailgate pictures, and stories of past tour dates.

The 5:00 Somewhere flag is flying proudly (though at half mast) outside the house today.
Fins up for all the good times.

Ryan and I were talking about how we got involved with Buffett music. We think it was our first trip to Orlando in 1999. We went to Universal and ate at Margaritaville Cafe. Something clicked. I bought a Parrot nightshirt...and was wearing it last night. Larry and Ryan bought Ts. Not long after that Larry went the Woodlands and came home laughing about everyone wearing tropical shirts and grass shirts. Yup. JB was in town. Within a year, we had joined those people at a show.

I found BN. I spent hours posting. ETP was coming to town and we met for dinner. She was my first BNer. Lol. Then, we starting going to shows in the area...and then farther away and meeting more and more BNer. We went to Alpine and almost froze!

We stopped going to shows years ago, but watched so many shows on line.

Thank you Jimmy for our friends, so many laughs and great music.

I was caught off guard today when out and about running to the store and grabbing a bite to eat. My wife and I wearing treasured Jimmy-wear and the unprompted, deep, shared mourning with complete strangers. 😭

I first saw Jimmy in the mid ‘70s while in college and have been a parrot head ever since.

Like all of you I just feel sick today. I’m honesty surprised and how I’ve been affected by the passing of a person I never actually met. It shows me what he’s given me over the decades

It going to be a long time before Summer and Labor Day feels the same Maybe it never will for me.

RIP Mr Buffet and my sincere condolences to your family

Since we live on the other side of the planet, could I ask you a favour?

When you have the time, please raise a glass in Captain Tony's on our behalf?

Hello phriends,

A very difficult time for many of us. The last 24 hours has been quite an emotional rollercoaster, more than I thought it would be for me. Listening to RM, reading the posts from many of us who haven't spent much time here lately, the FB posts, phone calls and texts from family and friends. I've lost touch with people in this orbit and others, wishing I hadn't. Will try and re-establish some connections. We don't necessarily know when it will be our time to go, but I'm trying to limit my regrets as time keeps moving. Maybe you will be inspired to reconnect with people from your past.

Thank you to Julie and Carole for creating a new Buffett fan while sailing on Lake Michigan and The Virgin Islands.

Thank you to JB and all past and present Coral Reefers for the music, memories, lifestyle, etc., that you have baked into my cake since 1990 !! JB I wandered around Palm Beach County for 17 years hoping to bump into you, although I did meet Johnny Lovell from Wellington FL, that's how you usually introduced him, prolly helped that I lived there.

Thank you for the friendship to the BNers I've met on these pages and in person over the past 20 years!! Thank you PHJim for this site and Sunlover for recording the shows.

God, strike me down if I'm lying...Kelley came home late from work tonight, my solo Buffett listening party had already started, so I gave her a beer and put the pirate hat on her and said, "Get a trout dog, get a whaler, get a clamwich", we both laughed hard and less than 5 seconds later the next song RM played was 'I Don't Know - Spicolli's Theme'...coincidence or Bubba sending us a message?!?!? Either way, we loved it.
On the corner of 'Walk' and 'Don't Walk' somewhere on US 1.
He's just singing and ordering drinks.

Jimmy was a part of my life daily for over 30 years and will be until my last breath. I have cherished every moment. Hugs and prayers to his family and his extended family of parrotheads. We love you. Fins up!

Just wanted to also say RIP Jimmy. Not much else to say. I like to think that his energy split into countless pieces and we all got one. Play that music, Parrotheads!
