Taking my car to the dealership this morning. When I had my window fixed, there were some nasty scratches on the roof by my back window - they weren't there before I took the car in.
That's about all from here.
Have a good Monday!!

Good morning, Penny. I was going to the gym, but Anne wanted to take off. It wasn't a hard sell.

Just about a perfect day here today, 74° with 81% humidity.
Another doctor appointment, hopefully no sharp pointy things will be involved.....

YAY!!!!!!! We're getting a little bit of rain!!
The dealership called, and they have to take my car to another body shop. I discovered huge scratches on the roof after they were done fixing my drivers side window, that the motor went out on the power up/down.

Evening, peeps.
Gorgeous day in Vacationland but felt more like September than August. No school here yet but it must be starting soon, saw the school bus practicing the route.

I went to another one of the local brewers today. They have a personal size pizza on the menu and it says it's "big enough to share with your homie or devour all by yourself, we won't judge". When the guy behind the bar was taking my order I told him since the menu says you won't judge, I'd eat it all by myself. I almost couldn't, I had to struggle to finish it but in the end I won the battle with the pizza.
They have some guest taps and one of them is from a brewer in Bluffton, SC near Hilton Head Island. It was called Cross Island Crypto and I wanted to try it only because there's a Cross Island Parkway on Long Island. But I already had 2 beers and that's my limit when I'm driving, unless I'm getting 5 oz. pours in a flight, which I wasn't doing.

Heading home from a 3 hr sit on the beach. It was beautiful but the surf was rough. We could see some riptides.
Not many kids there since school started today.

No school for us yet either...
It would normally start the last week in August, but this year I understand that the first day is actually after the holiday, the way it should be (iMO ) but the reason is only because they are closing 3 school buildings, and consolidating those students into the remaining ones... a total cluster... especially since I understand there are not enough busses for the demand - even with the $500 per kid charge for grades 7 and up ( state-mandated buses are only for K-6) andany child who lives within 2 miles of school. I am glad my kids are in their 30s!
Added into the equation is the fact that they are ripping up multiple roads in town, including 2 that run by schools. Hopefully, they'll be finished in 2 weeks, or there will be a lot of fuming parents! All I know is that a simple ~5-mile trip to the grocery store this morning became nearly triple that and involved roads in a neighboring town! OK... rant off!
But on the other hand, it turned into a BEAUTIFUL day (after the morning gloom dissipated)- low 70s, sunny, and dry! The perfect weather to enjoy a lovely long walk!

Only the satisfaction of a job well done.

1st day of school today in our local district also. Granddaughter started 8th grade. Where has the time gone? She was only 13 months old when my wife Carol passed. She is the only Grand left in school after grandson #2 graduated this past spring.
