The Magician and the Parrot

A magician gets a job performing on a cruise ship. For his first three performances, the Captain of the ship sits directly in the front row, with his loyal parrot perched on his shoulder. On the forth performance, the parrot starts to announce to the stunned crowd exactly how each trip is performed. “It’s in his sleeve”…”His assistant has it”… “The card has a hole in it”…over and over again the parrot gives away each and every trick.

Later that night, the cruise ship hits an iceberg and sinks. The magician wakes up, floating on a piece of driftwood. At the end of the wood sits the parrot. For two days they float in the dark ocean, neither saying a word to each other. On the third day, the parrot finally breaks the silence by saying, ‘Ok, I give. Where’s the ship?”
