Anyone ever been to Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista? Hotel reccommendations?..Hows the parking lot scene, etc.? I'm traveling out from the east coast for the 9/28 show! Thanks fellow Parrotheads for your advise and war stories about the venue.

Coors is a great venue with a great backdrop. When your watching JB on stage you check out the rolling hills of Mexico behind him. The venue is relativly new so it's pretty clean but the lines can get long (like most venues). The lawn is huge but not as big as Alpine. The parking lot is kind of laid back but very enjoyable. The cops let you do pretty much whatever, just don't bring bottles. People start arriving as early as 1pm (some earlier) but I would say the majority of people show up between 2-4pm. The SDPHC puts on a great spread with really nice people. As far as hotels, it really depends on what part of town you want to stay in. Chula Vista is about 10-15 minutes south of Downtown SD. I would recommend staying Downtown or north of Downtown. If money isn't an object the Hotel Del Coronado is a great place to stay. La Jolla also has some great hotels on the beach. Pacific and Mission beach have hotels and are very touristy. Your going to have a great time. Enjoy!

The San Diego Parrot Head Club will be representing in a big way at the tailgate party come September, led by Capt Gary and the Mayor of Margaritaville (hey, that's me...!)

Look for the club's Tiki Bar, the "Lost Shaker Lounge" (and it is ALWAYS open) and the "Welcome to Margaritaville" billboard, yes, I said billboard...(a must see and an excellant photo opportunity...)

There will be live Buffett music, plenty of rum and our party will be catered, including cheeseburgers (duh...!)

Visit the SDPHC website as the summer progresses for details...

I believe that there is a shin-dig at Campland on the Bay for the fourth! Koco Loco is playing.
