I have just become a victim of a ticket scam. It is not the fault of the Ticket Exchange; I was not careful enough.
The caller (Michael) said that he received the tickets from a promoter. The payment was arranged using Western Union. Tickets were to be delivered the following day; at which time we would authorize payment. According to Western Union, "Michael" picked up the money 15 minutes after we left the Western Union office. We are obviously naive to the buying and selling of tickets. I hope that someone can learn from my pain.

More information on this situation - the caller said that his name was Michael Stone; that he was 230 pounds and had black hair. Of course, this could all be a lie. I'll post more information as it becomes available.

Anon,

That really s***s, I'm sorry for you. I hope you didn't pay a ton of money for those tickets.

I bought my tix through a broker, but used C.O.D.-- a wonderful thing.

Everyone, if you're buying tickets from anyone other than ticketmaster, please arrange to pay cash on delivery!

Anon: I got my Dallas tickets off the CoOB Ticket Exchange site...the guy was from Iowa and our exchange went like clockwork. I guess I just got lucky.

I'm sorry for your trouble...COD will be the way I'll go in the future, just to be sure.

Good luck.

Thanks. It was $150 for 2 pavillian tickets. I can't afford another set of tickets.
We are also big fans of Peter Mayer, Jim Mayer, Roger Guth, and the rest of Club Trini. If you haven't listened to their music, you are missing out. I commend Jimmy for surrounding himself with such excellent musicians. Since I've heard Roger's version and Peter's version of Blue Guitar in concerts, I was looking forward to hearing Jimmy's version.

Anon, that s**ks.
I traded/bought with two separate people on the exchange and both went perfectly (Each time I sent the $ or tickets first). Guess I was lucky. Still have two trades left to go get the Camden tix I need. Will reconsider being so trustworthy in the future and go COD or face-to-face.

I have been scammed as well. I was without a doubt the DUMBEST person in the world. I got scammed for over $400 for 6 lawn seats for Greatwoods. I sent a money order out and she claims the guy I sent it to nver got it...but UPS says he signed for it. I obviously can't afford tix..now that I have to refund my friends there money each...Why do people do such things. She won't respond to any emails.

It happened to me too!!!!!!! Man, I am sorry, I should have posted earlier to avoid more harm. It happened 2 days ago to me. Same scam, seemed fool proof. If you would like to contact me, I am going after this guy, I had his last call traced. Don't know what I can do, but if I ever see him........ Also, I lost $173 on the scam, he said his name was Mike Rosen. Same description as yours. What an a-hole. My number is 843-367-0434, my name is Mike. I turn 21 on June 29th and this was going to be Buffett concert #20. This s***s. Hope he feels good about ripping poor college students off.

Folks, if you've been scammed, call the cops in your area and in the scammer's. Maybe if this SOB gets thrown in jail he'll think twice about ripping people off.

Mine was froma girl on this site. Least you got a number...I didn't even talk to her. I was soo excited bout seeing Bubba I trusted her and just stupidly sent money..Anyway, if anyone sees a girl on the exchange asking for $70/each (yes i was willing to pay that..i was looking for labor day and agency's in the boston area are asking $150-200 for a lawn) and her name is Jennifer...it is a scam. If she reads this send me my tix or money back and I will clear your name. If not watch out cause the email address is next!!

This ad appears to still be up on the exchange on page 2. Shouldn't someone take it down????

I may have almost gotten ripped off by the same joker, he said his name was Michael. He was trying to sell me 10 for $35 each. He said he was w/ a PR firm on the east coast, got the tickets for free, and was just trying to get rid of them because he doesn't go to any of these concerts. I told him it sounded too good to be true and I'd think about it and call him back. He gave me some number to call, which I did call back and never got a hold of him. Good thing I didn't.

and the add is still up today. I'm a little confused. Explain to me why we delete scalpers adds but leave up those adds for known thieves???????
