First trip to Chicago on June 20th.
Where is the best place(s) for pre-concert phlockings?

I along with 7 more phans will be phlocking at the Holiday Inn before and after the concert. Two of the 8 are virgins. They have a lot to learn!!

Hi PH's of Chicagoland....
I will be joining you wacky folks on 6/22 for my first Chicago show. My tour this year so far includes seeing Jimmy in Ft. Lauderdale, Las Vegas, on to Boston after Chicago, then to Irvine and home to see him in San Diego.
Any info on when the parking lot opens, tailgating, pre parties? Can't wait to see Jimmy in Chicago...and a night at The Lodge!
Thanks!

This will be my first at the Tweet in Chi-town. First of the year. Then home in Hotlanta. Then back for Alpine Valley, and closing in Long Island Aug. 27. Does the Tweet not allow tailgating Sat. morning???? Will the Holiday Inn bring the people? Please do tell.

This is the info I've been able to piece together so far. The Tweeter Center's website says the gates usually open 3 hrs. prior to the show--which would be 5pm. I'm thinking for Jimmy they will open early--around 3 or 4 maybe? On the Tweeter Center's website it also says no tailgating is allowed...I've drank cases and cases of beer and done countless shots and grilled my cheeseburgers in the lot without problems. They'll have to open the lots early too, I think because I'm hearing Harlem Ave (the main artery to the Tweeter Center) is down to one lane in each direction from two lanes. I plan on calling there the morning of the show to get the up-to-date info. Meanwhile, I think our M.O. is going to be to head to the bar at the Holiday Inn (in tinley) around 3pm, on the 20th, have a couple cocktails and hope to meet as many phans as possible to caravan over there. The Holiday Inn does have a complimentary shuttle within a 5 mile radius...but if you're planning on doing some serious tailgating like we are I dunno what you're gonna do with all your stuff. Only other words of wisdom I can offer is if you're planning on buying all your beer inside the venue....bring a LOT of cash. Last year the beers were 7 bucks a pop.

Oh yes, forgot to ask if anyone else out there is going to try the dance contest? I want to go for it!! My friend is not too keen on the idea. Anyone else in the same boat as me? It's not my favorite song by a long shot but might be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet the man himself!
