I waited around after the 2001 East Hampton show and he came out and signed my program and my Living and Dying CD cover. I love it. His John Hancock is pretty funny, especially when he's in a hurry. It's just a simple JB, not much else. I don't blame him though when you sign as many as he does.

I have a signed personalized tour shirt and a parrothead hat signed on the bill of the hat. My prized possession is a photograph of me and Jimmy in his condo in New Orleans.

It was a meet and greet situation before his concert at Margaritaville New Orleans. It was really cool.

I love the pholks who say "ALL I have are two things..." I would be so psyched for even one thing!
So here's a question - other than lucky encounters with Jimmy after shows, etc., how does one go about getting Jimmy's autograph? eBay?

Write to Margaritaville in Key West. I know a number of people who have gotten lucky that way.

I did that in the early nineties…I had bought the “Jolly Mon” book for my daughter, written by Jimmy and his daughter Savannah. I taped a picture of my very young daughter on the inside cover and told Jimmy it was her favorite book. Several weeks later I get the book back with Jimmy’s signature on the inside cover, and as an added bonus, his daughter Savannah also signed it. I did include a self-address stamped envelope for return…I thought that was pretty cool!!!

I don't have any memorabilia, but JB did sign my cast a few years ago when I broke my arm.

Funniest thing is, at the time, I didn't know who he was so I didn't stop the doctor before he cut right through the sig when I had the cast removed.

I sent a copy of one of our wedding day pics to Margaritaville. It was of my husband and I on our wedding day standing outside of Margaritaville Key West. I wanted to have it signed to give to my husband on our 10th wedding anniversary. After two months it was finally returned. The pic was unopened (I had sent a long letter telling them of the contents and the circumstances). They sent back an old 8X10 pic of Jimmy with his signature mass produced with handwritten "Best Wishes Peggy and Bob" above the signature. It was so obvious that the handwritten part was not Jimmy's. Oh well. I was so disappointed.

Where were you at when he signed your cast?

At a tackle shop on Long Island. I was with a friend who lives out that way and he was buying some new gear for a fly-fishing trip to the Exumas. I was supposed to go on the trip but, two weeks prior to it, I broke my arm. All of the employees and customers (JB was one) in the shop signed my cast out of sympathy.

In the letter if I rember, I told him a little about myslef and how I came to know his music. Then I think I asked him to come to Columbus(yea...imagine that! ). Then I think I thanked him.
I sent the letter to the Coconut Telegraphs address, and addressed it to Jimmy himself.

Nothing for me regarding autographed stuff, or anything like that... Unless Moog's signature on a bar napkin counts for anything???

Matt, I think you've inspired me! I'm gonna make another 8X10 of my avatar and send it in with a short letter reminding him of that night and request an autograph on it. As long as I include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return trip, it just might work! I'll letcha all know!!

Well this past summer when I went to see him at Nissan I was able to get one of the shirts I bought at the concert signed. It was the best ever, his signature is not great and my husband (who was there with me and saw him sign it, along with my brother and sister-in-law) kid me and say that I did it myself. I have it in a frame and hanging on the wall....that is one of my most prized possessions, as well as one of my most prized memories as I was in 5th row orch......what a way to see Jimmy!!!

I would kill for a photo of me with Jimmy... it would be my prized possession in my life! Hopefully someday I will be able to get one.
