I think I'm the lone Mac guy here....But as a graphic designer....I'd never use anything else, altho I've had to from time to time. In this day and age, You need a computer that fits your personal needs. A race Car driver cannot get by with Yugo, and a starving callege student doesn't need a Mercedes.

You are not alone. I'm on a Mac at work, and a PC at home. Once you go mac its hard to go back.TheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:I think I'm the lone Mac guy here....But as a graphic designer....I'd never use anything else, altho I've had to from time to time. My ex-girlfriend's Mom had one of those lil' I-Mac things. She used to ask me for help with stuff when I'd go over there. Talk about a pain in the ass. I'm sure a Mac is great if it's what you're used to, but if all you know is Windows the whole program of things seemed retarded. It was pretty frustrating. But we broke up and now I don't have to deal with that stuff anymore.
I feel good about that part of it all.
Thanks for making me think of that HD.

I LOVE my Mac!!!! It is the only computer I will ever use if I have a choice in a matter. I have a G4 with a 22" cinema screen which is perfect for drawing all those crazy architectural CD's. Heehee!!
Mac's are the best computers out there. You buy it, take it home, plug it in and your set. We have never had problems with freezing or freaking out like I know PC's have.
They are supper easy to use as well. If your used to a PC it may take a while to understand that you don't have to go through ten thousand commands just to do one thing. Once you get it, you will love it!!!
The most important thing to remember when considering a computer for work is how compatible it is with other companies you deal with. We have problems converting Microstation drawings from our Mac to AutoCadd drawings for PC's. Other than that it's great!!!
Good luck deciding!!

I have also been researching the purchase of a MAC for the office. It would have to file share on a Windows peer to peer network. We are a small company, currently only 5 PC's on the network. If I buy a new WIN machine it will have XP
and I have not had good luck with XP.
XP is evil
Anyway I think the only thing I would need to make a MAC work on our small PC network is Office X. But it might be out of the budget after spending the $$$ for a MAC.

To put it bluntly, Macs are for unexperienced people. With OSX now though, Mac has been trying to recruit the power users, but they should stick with the challenges of the windows and linux interface. Yeah -- where's linux in your poll?
It's freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! (If you can figure out how to install it.)
