Tell us how you plan on getting tickets for the Summer Tour. Do you plan on going to a TicketMaster outlet? Will you try calling TM by phone? or will you try ordering online from the TM web site? Do you have a strategy? Any secrets on getting good tickets?

------------------------------------------
Tips for Getting Tickets from TicketMaster

Here's some tips that I've put together from some past experiences in dealing with TicketMaster:

1. Find a ticket outlet in your area that will not have a huge crowd. Call up the outlet to see what time they open. Ask if they have a lottery or hand out wrist bands (ask what time you have to be there for the lottery). Most outlet are cash only, you may want to ask to make sure.

2. Most outlets now use a lottery system to determine your spot in line. They hand out numbers then they have a drawing and start with the person that has the number chosen and continue in order from there. Your best bet is to bring along several people and obtain numbers that are spread out (not consecutive). That will give you more chances at getting better tickets.

3. Bring along a cellular phone and dial the TM charge by phone number while you are waiting in line.

4. If you plan on calling from home, make sure you have a phone with speed dial. Program several TM numbers that are in your area (TM is divided into several regions and you can only get tickets for a show within a particular region). Keep in mind that some times out of state phone numbers may be blocked out for the first 10 to 15 minutes. Don't give up, keep on dialing!!

5. Sales through the Ticketmaster Online site may not start until one hour after they are on sale via the outlets and phone (this varies, i've seen some shows go onsale at the TM online website at the same time they go onsale at the outlets and phone). It may be very slow because of how may other people who are trying to get tickets at the same time.

6. Asking for a smaller number of tickets will get you better seats closer to the stage. If the limit is 6 or 8 tickets, you may want to ask for several pairs of 2 tickets or 4 together.

Good Luck!!

I buy my tickets through a broker, they are the only people that have the great seats, but they cost a lot of money

If I had a sure fire method of getting tix, the last thing I would do is put it on the net!!!!!
Oh, and by the way......Thanks to all of you fine folks out there that have made it even more difficult for us to obtain tix by sharing your methods with 100,000 or so party animals, deadbeats, college pukes and the rest of the idiots who manage to ruin a part of every show I attend!!!!!!!! Do all of us fans of Jimmy's music a favor by staying home with your obnoxious friends and drink yourself silly while playing SYKBH over and over again!!!!!!!!!!

Just dreading the Ticketmaster experience we had last March. We had Lottery # 6, but none of us got reserved seats (1-6)! We were happy with the lawn though, and met lots of friends. Guess we'll do it again and hope for the best!

I found that using an "out-of-the-way" ticketmaster outlet is the best way to try to get tickets. I live in Alabama and every year I try to get tickets to the Atlanta show. Because of time zone differences, tix are usually sold out by time the ticket outlet here opens, but I found a pawn shop that has a Ticketmaster outlet in it, and they sell primo seats everytime. I little luck and a hell of a lot of phone calls don;t hurt either.

I too go through a broker (& ads in the paper...)--you pay out the ass, but once you've been 5 feet from Jimmy & the stage, it's tough to go back-'specially to the lawn! (Probably why I haven't been to the last couple shows... I spent $1300.00 on 2 shows... been saving my pennies, though. I need a show!)

Go with the remote outlet, or BROKER, BROKER, BROKER,all the way. These legal scalpers have the best seats, and they are definitely worth it. Also, I will buy lawn for a thursday show,(they sell out last) but I will be there bright and early on Saturday to do it. (Standing in line, while calling outlet with cell phone) am bringing lots of non-PH friends to stand in line to help get tix for me and my PH buddy. Lawn is great, more room for dancing.......PHins up PHellow parrots___/\___/\___/\___/\___/\___

It ought to be a real madhouse come Sat. morning!
I'll do what I did last year and call my local Ticketmaster. We are about two hours downstate from the concert site. I'll call about 20 min. before 10 and keep hitting redial untill I get through. By the time a line opens up it should be around 10. Last year I did this and got through at 10:10 and got pretty good tickets. If you go to an outlet you probably won't be able to purchase tickets untill 10:15. Good luck to all you parrot heads and PHins Up!!!

After 36 shows since 1971, I hate to admit that I'm discouraged to the point that I'm not sure I'll even try the phone this year. For the past 4 years, I've spent all Saturday morning on sale day trying to get through and I've never made it yet. Great Woods (I'll never call it the Tweeter Center) will be clogged even more this year with no show in Hartford.

The plan is to try everything and anything. When all else fails go to a ticket broker. They really do have the best seats and it is a different show when you're up close. You have to ready to pay though. My question is, How do the ticket brokers get all the good seats?

With all or most of the shows going on sale Saturday, finding one that's "out of the way" may be difficult. The lottery system is the pits, making getting tickets for Great Woods even more impossible. The problem is the people who go in and buy the max number of tix for each show. They should at least limit them to 6 tickets, period, not per show. I found my tickets on the ticket exchange last year, and have already made contact with the person I bought them from, who said he's willing to do business again this year. It's so discouraging tho, in 7 years of trying, last year was the first year we actually made it, and now we're hooked.

The best luck I've had is the "remote" ticketmaster outlet. Another bonus is to find one that is cash only. That way, the line goes a lot quicker because they're not dealing with credit cards. I get stressed every year when it comes time to buy tickets. There's got to be an easier way! But, I just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best!!! Good luck to everyone!
