Here's what Jimmy said prior to the show in Atlanta:
"It seems that uh, I was hearing stories of where you couldn't get enough of us. Hopefully you will be sick of us by the end of this year. But uh, its great to be back in Atlanta, and bring you a little bit of sunshine for the summer in January."
"As all of you who have come to shows before, I normally don't come up here in the beginning of the show, and do something like this. But unfortuntly this was an unnormal day, and we lost some astronauts today. And I lost some very good friends in that. I just wanted to take a simple moment, and dedicate this show to all those brave men and woman. And I don't know if some of you know this, but our music rode on numerous shuttle flights up into the stars with those brave people and I appreciate that. I just thought they do the dangerous work, from taking our dreams to the stars, and I wanted to dedicate this show tonight, and do our work, which is simply to take us away from our troubles for a couple of hours. And God bless you all, have a great time in Atlanta."

I was on the "Guster" message board, (they're a awesome band you should check out) and Astronaut Mccool's son post there cause he's a fan of the band and he said he had his dad take Guster's cd as one of his personal cd's up on the flight, I thought it was pretty cool. I was wondering then how many times Jimmy's cd have actually been in space, Lt Dan how many times has he gone?

Thank you so much for taking the time to post that. It says a lot about Jimmy - about his love of adventure and adventurers, and of courage, and about his sense of honor - both in honoring the good in others and honoring his purpose in this world. If his early years were meant to teach us how to party and enjoy life, perhaps lately it's been more about recognizing your larger place in the world - as witness all the parrothead clubs and their charitable works. Again, thanks.
