Sandal Suggestions

Post by SonofASonofASailor »

Hello! Its getting about time to buy another pair of sandals. Yes, i know its winter time, but I live in Charleston, SC. They are predicting weather in the 70's later this week. The weather is strange here like that. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any sandal brand suggestions for me? Since most Parrot Heads are sandal wearers.

I really like Doc Marten sandals, they are really comfortable! They're expensive, but worth it when you wear them every day and they last forever! Good luck...wish it was even remotely near time for me to start thinking about warm weather shoes! I gotta go where it's warm! :-?

Those look like Rainbows. We have a Rainbow dealer here in Charleston. I was looking into them too. do you like them?

Have to cast my vote for Dr. Martens. The most comfortable sandal you could wear. They are expensive but well woth it. They will last forever.

I'm partial to Birkenstocks. Wear the sandals in warm weather and the leather Bostons in the cold. Love the look and feel. Will last forever if you take care of them and can be re-soled when needed for $30.

Scotts Sandals from Hawaii

Post by Old Town Miami »

If they ain't flip flops, they ain't sandals!

I got some Scotts sandals in Hawaii ages ago. been wearing a pair ever since. They have a great flip flop heritage, and they last forever! I love mine.... SoMe of em, the ones I like, have a bottom like Sperry deck shoes. Indistructable, so don't count out on a blown out flip flop...

do a web search on Scotts sandals...

I confess I pair of Reef sandals in Destin, FL, and I love them too. Those are easier to find... A great place to boogie board for hours.

My daughter blew out her flip flops at school this week. Think I will wear em on my hat to the concert... Hope I remember,

if I wore em or not, I mean...
I just want to be the last mango standing!

hey those are my ugly feet!!! :D I like to consider myself somewhat of a flip flop guru. There is only 1 pair of flip flops to get... RAINBOW, the pride of San Clemente California. I remember back in the day when they sold sandals in a shack on the beach in San Clemente, now they even have a website. Check them out http://www.rainbowsandals.com/

Now were talking about one of my expertises.....I prefer the nike or adidas that your foot slides into..I don't like the strap a the big toe...they have to be rubber cause they do get wet around this house...you should not pay more than 20 bucks for a pair...I need a life

Hey. . Adam is back! :D How was the cruise? I can't believe no one else knew those were your feet. Although a prize goes to SonofaSailor for knowing they were Rainbows.

I can't comment on this thread. . one other pair of sandals?? :-? If they are cute, if you have something to match or even if you don't - you can find something later, if they are on sale. . Buy them!

I think the best are either the Reef Brazil's or Rainbow. I've tried them all and they are the best. The pair's I have now are both like 5 years old and they are still very comfy. Just my opinion.

If you read the tag, Rainbows have a lifetime warranty against "blow outs" :D . Also, they form to your feet. Very comfortable.
I had to drive 100 miles (round trip) to purchase mine. Now people call them my '100 mile flip flops'. It was worth the trip because most of it was on A1A in Florida!

I had a pair of Summer Strands: Yes, cheap 3$ flip flops that are 15 years old and still haven't blown.......
I bought a pair of Rainbows (despite the name) last year just in case the cheap ones died. They are excellent...

Yes, I once had a pair of Tevas that were great. The only reason I had to stop wearing them was I outgrew them. I think I am going to maybe get a pair of rainbows. We have a place a few blocks from where I live that sells them. I checked out the website. The leather ones are a bit expensive for me right now(hey, I'm a college student), so if i do get a pair it would have to be the classics. should I go with the single or double layer sandal though?

I like Reef flip-flops but Kino Sandals from Key West are pretty cool. You can buy them right from the factory in Key West and they are inexpensive

Gotta go with the Rainbows!! They are the best, and JT was right they do have lifetime garantee against blowouts. Nike, addidas, berkenstock, doc marts, are all fine and dandy, but a little nerdy if your going for the costal look and comfort. Where i live in FL everyone wears them.
