The good things about Buffett

Post by PHat Matt »

Ive noticed lately that in many many threads people have been doubting, or saying un-good comments about Jimmy. I dont mean to start anything, but I really wanna hear the good things about Jimmy, not the bad things. So I started this thread to say good stuf about him.

>>>The new CD is gonna be great!!! I love the remixes that Ive heard, and the covers are great, and more live songs. YEAAAA
>>>Isnt it just amazing how he can sell out shows in 3 minutes all across the country!!!
>>>I really love every song of his, the lyrics are amazing, and they all sound amazing!
>>>I cant wait to see my first outdoor concert at Chicago hopefully, if not at Cinci!!! :D
>>>Jimmy is a wonderful guy with all hes done to help us, and everyone in general.

>>>I get this PHeeling a lot. But I am just speechless about how wonderfull Jimmy is, you guys are, Parrotheads in general are, and just how amazing it is to be living life like I do, how I do, with the people I do, and when I do. I thank God every day for it all, and I shall never see the day where I am not thankful for all there is, even in what most would say are horrible conditions. "Take the good with the bad and be gald to have every word"

Thanks guys!!! :D
and Jimmy theres still so much to be done...

Nice idea, Matt!

I love Jimmy for the way he is alive onstage, the way he seems to love what he is doing and how he seems to love being connected to his audience.

I love his imagination in his songs and his books.

I love the way he loves Jane, his kids and the rest of his family.

I love how he can make us so interested in his life.

I love how he can take someone else's song and hear something new and different in it.

I love how he can make me feel that there is so much in the world to see and do (although it depresses me also because I feel I'm not seeing and doing what I am capable of).

I just love the guy, and wish him all of God's blessings.

I agree PHat Matt. Jimmy has done so much for so many people and sometimes we forget that. Putting Jimmy in the cd player is like an instant vacation. To some people being a parrothead is a way of life, and I am very thankful for everything Buffett has done. I hope he plays many many many more years!!! :D

Well, I think that the greatest thing about Jimmy (besides his music) is that I have never met a Parrothead that I didn't like! It is like an instant bond of friendship. We're good people! :D

AMEN MATT!!

I no people are tired of the same ol stuff sometimes, but we all should be extremly thankful that the man is still doing as many shows as he does.
He still would rock if he played the same songs at every concert, and I would go to them all if I could. because i think that the show is just part of the show, seeing old friends is the other part!

Ah, the beatiful gift of music. I got my tickets for the April 19 show and I can't wait. Finally, my first Buffett concert. I've never lived anywhere where he even came close, but now he's in my town and it feels great. It's also nice to see a thread where we're saying only positive things; I really like that idea and the vibe. :D

I agree with you guys, I love to listen to Bubba. I have a picture of an Island scene on my laptop in my car and Jimmy in the CD player. On a cold winters night out in the middle of no where, nothing warms you up more!

The best thing about Buffett, for me is the music. There are so many of his lyrics that remind me of little episodes in my life. He has an amazing way of putting these little things in a song that instantly brings back good memories when you hear it. Being a parrothead is not only a way of life, but an outlook on life as well. That thread runs through the majority of his music. Thanks to phjim for this website and all your efforts in keepin' this thing going.

Excellent post Matt -- It never ceases to amaze me when people complain about Jimmy (for whatever reason). I guess some folks just don't feel their lives are complete unless they have something to b***h about. Biting the hand that feeds doesn't make much sense to me. The funny thing is, the people who complain about him now will probably whine the loudest when Bubba hangs up the guitar!

The best thing about Buffett is that his songs gave me the dream of living in a beach town. I grew up in Oklahoma, and his music put the visions of of the beach in my head. Thanks to his music I am now living in Naples, Fl.. I love my beach town. I can now go to the beach anytime I want. I love it! Nothing is more soothing than the sound of the waves hitting the beach, or Jimmy's music. Or both at the same time.
