How did we all do for GreatWoods??????

Post by PhanonHarley »

The parrot gods were finally with us this year. We did the standing in line with three of us and scored. We got four tickets for both shows, in the pavillion. IT WORKED and so happy i don't have to pay the broker basterds for another show. One thing i found was the phans looking to get 8 tickets did not get the show they wanted, if you asked for 4 you were a shoe in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have paid through the ass in the past and finally only had to pay the TRUE face value. See you all at Greatwoods!!!!!!!

Well I am happy to say another year another sucess story with me. We woke at 6:30AM (3 of us) drove the 1 1/2 hours to an outlet and ended up 11th in line and scored Saturday Pavilion seats, the saturday show sold out about a min later. I Just spoke to a friend of mine who tried online he got in had Pavilion seats hit submit then the system kicked him out. This is why I wait in line techonolgy is to unstable with this many people all trying at the same time. This is now 11 Straight years, someone up there is looking down on me!

I had 5.....count 'em 5.......computers, all high speed, at work, all placed in front of me where I didn't even have to move, and I came up with a grand total of <drum rollllllllllllllll> 2 tickets for Thursday in Section 14. One pair I had got kicked back, and several times I got the "error" message" that everyone seems to have gotten.

I liked the idea of TM placing you in "line", I had all 5 searching at once, but the error problem needs to be addressed somehow, it would say "less than a minute left" for 5 minutes or so.

The bright side of the story:

My wife was in line and happened to be 2nd after the draw, we got 2 & 2 instead of a big block of seats and ended up with the exact same seats for both shows, Sec 3, Row N, about 7th or 8th row, since Sec. 3 and 1 start at Row F.

I was on the phone with a sales person between 9:30 am and 10:00 am buying a gift certificate. We completed the sale and she said "Can I help you with anything else today?" I said "ya, Buffett please." In the past this little trick has worked like a charm. Then she dropped the bomb and told me that she cannot sell tickets to an event that goes on sale while the customer is on the line. Needless to say, I WENT POSTAL!

That's it for me. I'm never going to use TM again. I'll happily pay a scalper the extra money now.

They still get your money as the scalper paid them. You answered my question about trying to "buy" other stuff to keep them on the line. You can't win.

So, I got nothin' but Proxy server errors and freezes trying online, and nothing but a busy signal on the phone...Had my dad trying in Baltimore for Merriweather, no luck there. BUT: my best friend was a trooper and went and stood in line for me... ended up fourth at the cash register! My friend rocks!

2 Pavillion tix for Thursday for me! I've actually never been to Great Woods before, so I'm eager for any and all tips about the venue and the vibe. Apparently it's one of the few places that still has a kickass tailgate??

See y'all in August!! :D

Well...this year my luck ran out. Each of the past two years, I was able to get pavillion tickets online through Ticketmaster.

This year, I did manage to get to the ordering screen on a pair of section 8 seats, but after I hit continue, I got error messages galore.

You would figure that Ticketmaster would have a decent computer infrastrure for their online ordering system, but alas not.

Had to go to a scalper this year...<sigh>

well we tried right from the start, had some good seats but got a proxy server problem, then froze up etc, basically at the end of the day we got nothing. Shame, very dissapointed......
Hope some friends had better luck.

I was lucky this year. Got through to TM and got 2 tickets to both shows. This is my 3rd year in a row to GW's and the tailgating does not get any better than GW's. I have been to 23 shows and I speak from experience - tailgating at GW's is the BEST. To all of you that got tickets - Fins-up and have a great time and great summer.

With wife at home trying to score some tickets online, I reluctantly went to the outlet to try my luck with the 'lottery'. Well, turns out she ran into the same problems everyone else had with the dot-com madness :x, and I hit the lottery and got away with 8 tix for Saturday's show :P!!! See everyone who was fortunate enough to get tickets at the show in August 8)!!!
