They will let you into the parking lot even if yo don't have tickets but they make you park in a secluded area where you can not tailgate. Remember when buying any ticket for a great woods event the parking fee is included in the ticket price (wonder how long before that changes) so if you don't have a ticket and want to tailgate where you park you may be SOL. Right outside great woods there are a few (maybe 2) private parking lots that charge $20.00 or so. It makes getting out after teh show easy and if you are just coming to meet up with us BN freaks you could park there and walk into great woods parking lot.

I'm sorry, but I am an eye witness to the fact that this is not true...at least it was not true last year.RAGTOP wrote:yes they will let you in with a receipt, thats what you need to do if your picking them up at will call. For the most part telling them your buddy has your tickets and he is already inside the lot will not get you in. You will have to meet people outside the lot and go in together. GW is one of the only venues that rarely releases more tickets the day of or before the show. It has happened in the past but VERY rare.
Last year at the Saturday show, they were releasing tickets all afternoon. They started releasing reasonable quantities of lawn seats just after noon, and by 3PM, I was witness to several people picking up choice pavillion seats (sections 1-3 included!).
Furthermore, although I was not in attendance for the Thursday show, I heard numerous stories of tickets being available right up to show time due to the poor weather.

From my understanding very few if any tickets were released for the Sat. GW show last year or the year before. First they wont let you into the parking lot without a ticket unless you are very creative with you excuse so how would all those people be at the great woods box office? they wouldn't be able to get past the main gates. As far as getting them from scalpers I can talk from 10+ years experience at great woods each year you see more and more people looking for tickets than sellling them. As recentally as 3-4 years ago that was not the case.bgsherris wrote:I'm sorry, but I am an eye witness to the fact that this is not true...at least it was not true last year.RAGTOP wrote:yes they will let you in with a receipt, thats what you need to do if your picking them up at will call. that's why I said rarely do they realease tickets. I also heard that last year during the Thursday show they released more tickets and that was for 1 reason only, there were quite a few cancellations due to the 50 degree temps and pouring rain. Other venues release tickets all the time and for really good seats but GW rarely does this and I certainly wouldn't pin any hopes on getting tix this way.
