Question for you SoCal people:

Flying/driving from LA to Vegas is about the same $$ and takes almost the same amount of time, all things considered. Anything interesting to see along the way if I drive, or should I just fly over it??

There is NOTHING to se on that drive. I had planned on driving, started to change my mind, but can't find any flights under $120 now. Looks like I'm still driving.

Flights under $120? If I could only be so lucky! I had to pay $330 round trip to fly in from Montana and that's the cheapest it's been for a long time.

Counting down the hours!

The only place of interest on the drive to LV is
PEGGY SUE'S DINER just outside Barstow by
the Marine base..a hold-out from the 50's...
a good stop for lunch...easy off of Hwy 15...
you will see the big billboard in time to pull off.
Otherwise, bring your Buffett Trivia Book & CDs
because most everything else looks the same!

Don't forget the Bun Boy in Baker! Its home to the worlds largest thermometer.....well worth the drive all by itself!!!!

Seriously, the drive is rather uneventful....but not much different timewise than a flight would be. The big advantage is that it allows you total flexibility as to when you want to leave. If you want to stay an extra few hours or an extra day.....its easy to do when you drive!

Plus, you don't have the possiblity of flight delays, cancellations, or overbookings happening......your only possible problem is if you have car problems :-?

Seriously.....i say put a full tank of gas in the car (not many places to stop in the desert), load up the Buffett CD's, and take the drive.....and don't forget the camera to get a nice photo of the worlds largest thermometer!!!! :o

See ya all at Tommy Rockers on Friday!!!!
