BUFFETT TIX ON THE DECLINE

Post by kenpo »

OK Here Goes;

Hi Phlock,,,
We think we are forgetting some things regarding availability. I used to be in the biz (music),, which isn't easy, so here is my input..

1- At every venue you have pre-sale and season ticket holders, VIP,GOLD,SILVER,etc.. that makes it hard in it's own right..

2 - let's not forget about mom / dad/ friends that work at these venues they get first rights and will spit out their tix before we get ours.

3- all or most musicians and bands have reserved spaces in their contracts for friends and family usually the first 12 rows.

4 - have we ever thought about the bands,, I hope this isn't happening but it's a thought.. the STAR or BAND could be releasing their rows to brokers
for extra $$$$..????

5 - with this in mind that probably leaves 1/2 of the reserved seating available to us PO' folks !!!!

6 - we b**** and whine but yet every year we all go,, at least I do..

7- like i stated before , go to the show there are hundreds of people selling
tickets in the parking lots, and at the gate,, not all are scalpers.. you just have to take a chance and go to the show,,

8- I have never in 30 years of going to concerts not been able to get a ticket regardless of who was playing,, all it takes is a little effort.

9- I don't want to make any enemies here, it's just my opinion and i could be wrong.

10 - hope to meet any of y'all this summer, so far we're going to Nash and Indy

Agreed.

Despite all of the BS and lack of luck on that fateful Saturday in March every year, I plan on being at GW once again and I will have my usual blast. There's always a way in...

But now I'm gettin' old, don't wear underwear...

i will agree. if you want to go to any show, buffett included, then despite the fact, that what ever event is sold out, there will always be people who are not brokers, but do have extra tix and will usually sell them for face value. if not, then learn to negoiate. know the face value of the ticket you want to buy and then decide what price you would be willing to pay if the seller wants more. i usualy offer $100. most of the time i get the ticket i want. the times that i don't, then its because the seller thinks he can do better. those that think they can do better, are the ones actually think a real phan, will pay just about any price the seller is asking for.
unless you have a lot of bucks to spend, those are the people you want to stay away from. let them eat the cost of what ever they paid for the ticket.

But aren't we tired of the commotion? The anxiety of trying to get tickets at face value. If there were a way that a new system could be implicated, even if it meant increasing the ticket price, wouldn't we all be better off? At the very least we would have the satisfaction of knowing that the extra cost of a ticket was going to it's rightful owner, the artist. Sign the link labeled petition.

another idea could be that anybody who is fortunate to buy tickets online or on the phone, buy the limit with the intent of spreading tickets to anybody who shows interest in them. selling at face value of course.
