Great Woods Question

Post by SilverChain »

I've seen a lot of the great advice for people (like me!!) who were shut out of Great Woods tickets.

I'm concerned of trying to get them "day-off" (because as someone mentioned here...you usually need a ticket to get into the parking lot)

My question is...are there any legitimate agencies or brokers in the Boston area I should look into...someone who's legit and not selling the tix through the roof?

I've tried for 4 years with no luck...I don't want to miss out this year!!

Thanks all!

So does the "Will Call" window not exist at Great Woods? What if you have a printed receipt from buying the "day of" or "day before"?

Just realized this question may seem a little sarcastic. Sorry. Just adding to the discussion! :D Thanks!

As far as the day "of", sometimes they check and sometimes they don't. Lats year we didnot get checked, the year before we had to have a ticket for everone in the car and then the wrote it on the windshield, so its a crapp shoot. As far as the will call window, you would have a reciept for that anyway. Not sure if that all helps. And the brokers, whether here or in Mexico..............they all s*** and are way over priced. Wait till the week before and try ticket master, worked for me last year.

They have checked the last few years but all you have to say is you are meeting a group of people and they have your tickets. If you have out of state plates it works better because you can say you just drove from:xxxxxxxx to meet up with them.

Just like PhanonHarley said it's a crap shoot as to if they check tickets coming in or not. Last year at the thursday show they checked ours in the rain but they didn't bother to on saturday. If you or anyone is going to break down and buy from a broker WAIT, DON'T DO IT RIGHT NOW. The rush is on and prices or at their peak this week and will stay that way until at least the middle of July. The first of August start calling around and by this time the brokers are starting to worry that they may have to eat a few tickets or pay someone to sell them in the parking lot. Offer them 50 bucks over face (100, 125 for pavillion) and see what they say. If they don't except your offer give them your number and tell them to think about it and give you a call, chances are they will call. 2 years ago I did this with a broker in NH and 10 days prior to the show they called and I got 2 pavillion seats for 150 (face was 52 each).

I've personally always had good luck with Roth Ticket Agency in Providence, RI. Yes, they are a ticket agent and yes you are going to pay way over face value, but they've been around forever and are very trustworthy and easy to deal with.

I agree it's not the time to buy now. Wait until late July early August and then try start the search.
Indecision may or may not be my problem....

We've also used the same tickets over and over to get folks into the lot.
You drive in and show you tix, then once you're parked, walk to the road and jump into your friends car and show the same tickets. This works.

As far as will call, in the past they've moved it up front by the entrance.

Most importantly, buy from somebody reputable. Sometimes there are good deals on in the Boston Globe or on E-Bay, but often, they are too good to be true. Pay with a credit card if you can, then you have some insurance.

We bought 4 lawns back in 2000 from a line ad in the Boston Globe....$75/each. Turned out to be fakes

I've used Seacoast Tickets (www.seacoastticket.com) for other concerts and have had great results. Looks like I'll be trying them for Buffett this year. None of us got ANY this year!

One problem

The first message in this posting group used the words:

"Legitimate" and "Agencies or Brokers" in the same sentence.

Therein lies your dillema!

NO
(Unless you consider RI or NH to be within the "Boston area"... that is.)

They are illegal in the state of Massachusetts.
